Hi !

In my mod, i want to include some buildings which can only be built if a percentage of immigrants (2% of english, or 5% of australians, ...)is present in the city.

Like China Town, this big building will be able to officialize the presence of a community. Consequences are not decided for the moment.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to do that with python ? (like creating new tags for buildinginfo.xml).

And, 2nd question, what can we do about migrations, racism, etc... ? Have you some ideas ? And can we increase or decrease percentage of immigrants with new buildings ? And which new systems can we create about racism, xenophobia... ? (unhappiness, growth modifications, etc...)

I know that i ask a lot (too much ?) of questions, but the subject is interesting i think ;)
 
Sounds interesting; however keep this in mind.

IMMIGRATION is historically important.
MULTICULTURALISM is not so much.

The idea of immigration and having different cultures within a city is interesting; however, doing the whole chinatown thing may be a bit out there.
 
i think the lopez is doing something like this,... but this is needed and is a great idea and would be an excellent addition to civ
 
This could be used to sabotage culture if you had it so that the immigrants home country had control over what was built. For example, if you're playing as France but had a 30% Chinese population, CHINA should be allowed to build some sort of immigration settler who will produce a national building in France's city. This would strengthen the Chinese culture while weakening the French.
