Community Patch - How To Install

When is the next stable release its been a months and i cant wait :D
Thanks for a great mod the game feels like civ 5.1

Hi everyone! Long time player, first time posting. :D

I've got a question about the (1a) Community Patch - C4DF Addon. How exactly do I use that? I've got (1) Community Patch in my MODS folder as well as (1a) [as well as a couple other mods, including (2)-(6a) and Civilization IV Diplomatic Features (v 11), which are all deactivated, EUI deactivated/deleted too]...

The (1a) Community Patch - C4DF Addon does not show up in the mods menu (probably because it's a Project?), so I figured it's activated, as the modder describes it, "along side" (1) Community Patch... But when I start a game (even one starting in the Atomic Era) no C4DF what so ever. - I even get I bug which won't let me choose a production...?! So what am I doing wrong? Thank you very much.

// My ultimate goal is or was it to use C4DF (standalone) together with a couple other mods and EUI. When I tried this, I've got some very weird interface errors (trade screen messed up, 15 discussion tabs which did nothing, except two who declared war, top panel empty until a city was founded, etc). So I deactivated EUI and *all* other mods, but the problem persisted - I figured that the mod version (v11) must be broken (which is actually improbable due to its popularity) and reverted my attention to the Community Mod, which doesn't seem to work for me either. This could be connected to my Civ Version (1.0.3.144 (116487)), not a Steam Version - maybe I should try it with my steam version (don't know the version number)? (The story behind me having two Versions is, that I want to play on my beloved Mac OS X 10.6.8. Snow Leopard MacBook Pro and the Steam Version won't let me - even steam is not compatible anymore - even though it has nothing to with the hardware... :p Ridiculous, but enough of that.) //

VP isn't compatible with Macs - it needs an .exe kernel to work. You can run it via Wine, however.

Hi guys, I want to say 4 things.

1. I am testing this mod and I AM LOVING IT, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS GAME PLAYABLE :D

2. The warmongering penalties already look pretty good enought, the idea on the my last post message doesn't seem important enought anymore (but you still may add it if you wish, ofc).

3. I found a MOUNSTROUS BUG in the gameplay that maybe you want to fix (and probably is not that hard to fix):
- When you conquer a city from an ai player, this player might be willing to buy it back, however the price of the city is an absurd; let's say that you are a warmonger and the player is very rich, you can literally sell it for almost all his wealth per turn (like 350 gold per turn + all his luxuries resourses and strategic resources, leaving him with 10gpt only) and this looks to be a very spoliative circustance, principally if you are at peace treaty with him (and ofc you can always conquer it back, principally if it is at your continent).

Ok, thinking better about it, maybe it already has it's own sort of balance and maybe it would be a little more complicated than it seems to properly fix it if it ever should get a fix.

Thank you for your feedback. However, as you can probably see, there is a lot of threads with a lot of discussion, so devellopers usually miss of forget bugs reported there.
Please report it on Github instead: https://github.com/LoneGazebo/Community-Patch-DLL/issues

Quick question:

If I want to play only with the "CP+C4DF" setup, do I only have to install the"(1a) Community Patch - C4DF Addon", or do I also have to put "(1) Community Patch" on my MODS folder?

Hello Guys,
I've been trying to install the mod but when I'll test the mod, keeps installing the .88 Version.
Even when I download the file latest version. Any advise?

Hi...
I've deleted all the game files and reinstalled the game and the problem was solved....
Anyways... Thanks for all the support

By the way, you should always use the autoinstaller, do not bother with the manual install. The autoinstaller should take care of everything. You do not need to delete/copy anything.

OK guys, I'm having the same issue, and I can't figure it out. Apparently this mod shouldn't be v 88? Because that is what is always getting installed from the autoinstaller. I deleted my whole mods folder, reinstalled the entire game (deleting its core folder as well) and the latest autoinstaller (5-20-3) is always installing v88!

What am I doing wrong?

It should be v88. The version number stopped increasing a LONG time ago (for stupid technical reasons), and versions are now reffered with they publishing date (5-20-3).
The confusion in those post come from v88 is also the version number from the very beginning of the Community Patch.

Excellent, thanks. So I am in fact in the right version. I got confused further because I saw in another thread someone mention that crime unhappiness has been changed to "Distress", but mine still says "Crime"

Yep, I'm now a bit more up to date on how things work around here. :)

Just a guess at how the devs did things but numerical values will conflict if the same value is present. Only use "(1a)" in your case.

  • Enhanced User Interface:
Enhanced User Interface offers a complete rework of Civ 5's user interface. This mod is not required by the Community Patch Project, but most Project users prefer it. It is included with the Automatic Installer, but will have to be installed manually if you wish to use it with just the Community Patch. Please note that your decision to use (or not use) EUI changes what Project files you should install, and may include additional steps (such as the deletion of lua files). To download EUI, please click here: Latest EUI Version

Installer:
Not sure what language it is written in, it's no on the github.
Use RegistryKey Registry.CurrentUser.OpenSubKey("@Software\Firaxis\Civilization5\LastKnownPath") to find if EUI is installed. It's a C# class. You just need the path so you can check for the EUI directory.
Alternatively, since %userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Text\ has his file in it, check for that. <- less code, little less robust, easier to convert for linux installer.

Reporting bugs is a pain because the versions don't have years associated with them in the game.
6a and 6b cause issues for me. I have deleted the cache.

I would be very interested in getting this to be "not a mod" single player. configuring data takes forever because this game is not optimized for anything more than a core or two running at 5.6Ghz.

Is the '43-Civ Vox Populi (EUI)' option of the automatic installer the same as the normal 'Vox Populi (EUI)' except supporting 43 civs on the map now? If not, what are the differences please? And also, are there added compatibility issues with mods?

Yes. It allows 43 civs, but restrict the number of city states to 20.
No compatibility issues specific to this settup has been reported, though it is more likely to have some than standard settup.

If I would like to play a game with more city-states do I have to uninstall Vox Populi and download the non-43 civ version or can I simply turn the 43-civ module off within the Civ V in-game mods list? I have the EUI version if that is relevant.

You need to reinstall Vox Populi.

The mods of Vox Populi are numbered (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), and then either (6a), (6b) or (6c) depending on the options you chose (but you need at least one).
On top of that, the mod "(1)" is different between the 43civ version and the standard version.
(But has the same name, for compability reasons)

What's the current thread for reporting bugs or commentary on the latest edition? The link that is provided in the first post (for installing the mod) may be outdated, as the thread that is linked to has its last post submitted over two years ago.

The problem I am experiencing is the game won't proceed past turn 365. I am prompted to choose city production, but clicking on it does not take me to a city production screen; furthermore, all cities are producing something ... so I should be able to end the turn.
