Question: I notice on 32-bit OS, the 16-bit-subsystem is NTVDM.exe or something. If you copied and pasted that to a 64-bit OS, would you be able to run 16-bit programs?

Interesting thought though and makes me wonder whether dosbox does 64b.

Has anyone experience with setting up Bochs?

I got a free box of old computer components. What do I do with them? (None of them are particularly useful for my computer, as they're several years old.)

Did you try another USB plug?

Question: I showed somebody this youtube video and she said the fps is lacking and that the video is choppy on her end, but it appears fine on my end. She also says that other videos don't do it and the audio isn't skipping, so its the video (as opposed to the connection). The only skipping/stalling I see is due to the antivirus (I paused it and it stopped). What do you all think?

Noobish question: If a processor is run at 100% for a very long time, what will eventually happen (assuming it doesn't freeze up)?

runs fine for me

When it goes out, did you try pulling it out and plugging it back in? (Hot-swapping it.)

Only temporary fix but if it works and you have a front-panel USB port (that cooperates with it) it shouldn't be too much problem.

Try out other devices in the port you use for the mouse. Try the mouse out in other ports. If it works in others, then you got a bad port, if it doesnt, you either have a bad mouse or bad drivers. The cable might have also been damaged and thus after more intense action the mouse appears to go offline.

Hot-swapping only worked after I exited the games I tried.

It's the same thing in every port, and other devices work fine in any of my USB ports. So I guess it's the mouse itself.

In any case, I went back to the shop today. The guy at the shop was reluctant since the said mouse was on its best behaviour when he tested it, but gave in and exchanged it. It seems to work fine for games, so that's solved I guess. Thanks all for your help.

Why is there two explorer.exe?

One takes up about 22,222 (lol) K, and the other one 19,880 K. When I kill *either* of them, the taskbar/icons die. I also noticed the properties were the same.

Cos your processor is running at 100%, it has melted....and formed two processors, and each one is trrying to run the process independently of the other
