Congratulations Bolivia!!

Ah, it must be true because it was posted on an Internet forum.
I would much sooner trust that individual poster than "news sites" that post a nearly decade-old story. Of course, we can still champion the defeat of fast food in Bolivia!

USA Today said:
McDonald's will be survived by Burger King in Bolivia which has said that it now plans to expand its presence in Bolivia.
Of course, I'm the sucker for trusting the forum poster.

Sucks for Bolivians, a Big Mac now and then is a tasty treat.

Man, sucks to be Bolivian. :(
Ditto.

Ah, the noble savage Bolivian!

Love: love is all you need!

Dedication: because nutritional value and flavor of food is diminished without sufficient devotion.

Hygiene: low-income South American countries are renowned for sanitary food preparation areas.

Proper cook time: the time interval in which food, for no reason other than waiting, becomes healthy.
 You have hit the nail on the head.

lol it's a free market - congrats to Bolivia, no-one is going to force them to eat at McDonalds if they don't want to.

I know for a fact that there are a fast food chains in Bolivia because I saw them myself.

Shockingly, Bolivians are humans just like us and not some mythical andine creatures above lack of time to eat a full meal. They eat plenty of crap.

If they only had eight restaurants, and they have plenty of other fast food, then why does this matter? Long John Silver's bombed just as badly in the UK, but nobody made a song and dance about it. I suspect that the fact Morales is running the place leads people to see more in this than there actually is...?

It is pretty stupid to try to sell exceptionally bad fish and chips in a country that is renowned for having very good fish and chips. To be honest, I wish blunders like that were more publicized.

Similarly, Taco Bell has never taken off in Mexico. They first opened there in '92 and closed just two years later. Even when they attempted to re-brand themselves as American food and reopened stores in 2007, they ended up closing up shop again just a few years later. Why would a Mexican eat a really crummy 50 cent taco when they can get a pretty good 50 cent taco just down the road?

I doubt the Bolivians have any sort of particular disdain for McDonald's because its not a "home cooked meal", they probably can just get similar or even better food for better prices in street carts or local fast food places.

THE CLOWN IS DEAD, ALL HAIL THE KING!

I understood LastOne's comment as suggesting the low public profile of KFC, rather than a claim to their total absence. He never claimed to have made a comprehensive survey.

There are many KFCs in Brazil, though they adapted to local taste by offering meals with rice and beans, in the Brazilian style.

Good thing, too. Now I have every reason not to stop by Bolivia. History of banana republican regimes, presidential dictatorships and dictatorial regimes of all stripes, and brutal warfare. Also the lack of good fast food.

;)

It was a populist proto-dictatorship before this, what's the difference? Lord of Elves?

btw Narz you're weird.
