Again with posters who can't help but to demean fellow fanatics. This is ok???
Why is it OK to demonize people because of a perceived ulterior motive? I find it condescending when people assume I'm a sheep and need to be warned about the secret meaning in this. That it needs to be explained to me how the world works. I'm sorry, but I'm insulted.
Look, my point was not to say we shouldn't be grateful for free DLC. It was to say not to fool yourself into thinking it was released for free by 2K for any reason other than good PR.
My point is that we will have a "thing" that we didn't have before, regardless of whether we are grateful or not, and it will cost us
nothing. You don't have to smile and say thank you, because they are not going to get passive aggressive and say how no one appreciates them if you don't. They're not my grandmother. You can simply take it as though it sprung from the void of space and no one will think you're wrong to do so.
I'm starting to think a bigger issue is that for such a well organized group (the quality lauded in the free DLC press release), we're really disrespectful to each other.
It's very easy to claim to be a victim of my scathing attack in order to shame me for not getting on board with you're point of view, or to make anyone else who shares my opinion feel like they're bad people for siding with those who are supposedly being "uncivil". Shifting the "issue" as you called it to whether or not I am a bad person but not referring to me specifically only to "posters who can't help but to demean " or how "we're really disrespectful to each other" making me not a person but a "them" to be vilified. Arguing not with what I said but how I said it.
One might even call it a marketing ploy or PR maneuver, a tactic worthy of 2K.
But your opinion is as valid as the next persons. As Voltaire* once said: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
Of course the only reason I wrote that last paragraph is to paint myself as the reasonable one which is what often happens when an argument is going nowhere and the only way to "win" is to claim the argument is beneath you and quit, leaving the other side to look petty if they continue. Which is what you attempted to do when you called me disrespectful,
So the sequence of events went like this:
2K ego strokes players
you demonize 2k
I undermine your opinion
you attack my rhetorical tactics as disrespectful and claim the high ground
I attack yours as hypocritical for being the very tactics you decry in others and claim the high ground.
I then attempt to double secure the high ground by dissecting my own argument and claiming there is no high ground to claim to begin with.
Diabolical!
So all we have is a game feature we didn't have before and the same arguments. Either the DLC is an extra bonus gift, or something that was withheld. It still works the same either way.
