My FFTA is progressing well... my sage is now a Lvl 14, with all the rest trailing closely behind. Also have almost 40k in gold, and had just paid 10k for the spear with Cheer in it, for my templar.

Clan level is only at 7 though...

40k gold? That's a lot, I only have around 20k, mostly because I keep spending it on weapons. My sage hit 19, but now since he's actually attacking, he's only getting around 4 exp a turn instead of ten with healing, so my other guys can catch up a bit more.

Current Clan Nutsy (yeah I stuck with the default) Level 10:

1) Marche - Fighter: He dishes out a ton of damage so I keep delaying the eventual switch to thief. Air render is by far his most useful attack, and he knows around five others. Nearly Lv 15

2) Montblanc- Juggler/Thief: Haven't experimented much with him, Hurl seems pretty useless and now he's learning a ranged stop and attack (ring), but I haven't have a chance to use it yet. Lv 14

3) Lunais- Human Paladin: Slow, and there's nothing else for him to currently learn. Still pretty powerful though. Lv 13

4) Cassidy- Bangaa Templar: Knows silence, haste, cheer, and learning warcry. He's most powerful physical attacks after Marche. Lv 14

5) Kingsley- Nu Mou Sage/White Mage: Knows all the available white mage skills, and four sage skills. Very powerful and ahead of everyone else, I rarely go to battle without him. Lv 19

6) Diana- Viera Archer/Sniper: I temporarily put her back as an archer to learn disable because she already learned all the current sniper skills. Going to be eventual Assasain. Lv 13

7) Brunhart- Nu Mou Black/White mage: With turbo mp, his black mage magic does as much damage as Marche, waiting for him to open up Illusionist. Lv 13

8) Macgregor- Bangaa Dragoon- Dragoons are cool, especially his nifty jump attack Lv 13

9) Gerome- Human Hunter- He's really weak right now, but still valuable. Hunters look feminish for some reason :p Lv 14

10) Chaka- Moogle Gunner- Almost done learning all the gun skills, so I'll switch him to Mog Knight soon. Gunners are cool, but he keeps missing or hitting my own team. Lv 13

11) Cecille- Viera Fencer- Almost ready to switch to Red Mage Lv 13

Laws are getting more powerful, things like heal, copycat, and color magic are being outlawed now. I have about 22 hours in the game

If you think hunters look feminine, wait till you see the Illusionist. I think 'she' wears a skirt. :)

I'm 24 hours at least, into the game but probably behind you. I take a lot of time planning... :p

If you've 11 characters, obviously you'll spend more to equip them all... ;)

XIII, I have a wee bit over 170 hours logged. I decided to finish it last night and went the Human World route. Only seven more endings to go. :crazyeye:
170!? :crazyeye:

As for the transing bonuses, yes. I did my Divine Majin at level 500 Genius and he got 10 points. I transed him a second time at Level 1000 Genius and he had 21 points. Both times I put all points into ATK. I now have him at 1700 and the increase in ATK is VERY noticeable. Of course, this is transing a Divine Majin into a Divine Majin. I did not change classes. But people have stated at gameFAQS that say for a cleric, they would start as a majin (who has weapon aptitudes of S in all categories) and once they learned Winged Slayer (for leveling purposes) would trans into a cleric for easier leveling.
Good. Then I shall trans my created char a few times too. :)

If I had a Divine Majin who had transed say 10 times... His base stats would all be in the 70's or 80's at level 1... Wouldn't his base stats be higher than normal if he transed into a cleric or mage for his 11th trans? I don't know about this... Doesn't matter I guess. Majins can do anything they want and be great at it. They are the best characters in the game because of aptitudes all being at 120%. Some of the 'bonus' characters have a few aptitudes in the 130% range but not all 8 of the stats.
Yeah, but if all of my char compose of majins, wouldn't it be boring... :)

I only have four sets of 300 Statisticians and Managers. Thus I only powerlevel 4 characters at a time.
Getting more this weekend... I'll probably go slow, and stop power-levelling. Very tedious; now just play for fun... :)

I got the stronger enemies level passed 17 times and Cave of Ordeals 3 is working good for me. But I forgot to turn them back down and went after the secret characters. I see one with a level of 8,354 and I'm thinking how strange because a normally reliable guy at gameFAQS said this character would be level 2,000. And I almost beat him/her (floppa is spoiler free!) at the higher level.

I may be ahead of you plot-wise but you're classes are further than mine. Mostly because I have to split between 11 and you only have to split between 8. But it lets me get around laws easier. :p

Since I am probably ahead plot-wise, how far are you to make sure I don't spoil anything? (even if FFTA has a simpler storyline) The main plot-line missions are always at the top of the missions list in case you were wondering.

A party with any number of the same 'class' would be boring I imagine. I created a monster character, one of the 'Great Wyrm' class called a Surt. Not the most powerful but it is non-elemental and I picked it due to it having a 3x3 attack which helps with leveling up. He's a bad dude. :)

I'm on level 98 of a Legendary Longinus spear. Wish me luck. I go for the lengendary ultimate spear in a few. Hopefully my Space Pirate is leveled enough to steal it.

Well, I've just gotten my first totema... ;)

Yeah, I know...

I was about to ask, why aren't we creating monster followers... :)

Sounds cool. :)

My right hand hurts - I'm suffering fr repetitive stress injury, too much gripping the PS2 controller for too long.

I've genius-trans all 5 of my created characters - as Shogun, Eternal Fist, Frei-something (the archer one), Saviour, and Knight (to open up whole class). It's a breeze to level them back up to the 80-100s, since I've still got my equipment. :) I also do it, while hunting down Statisticians. Got 4 max ones now, making another 4 more. :)

Only have 1 Manager in the 270s, but more-or-less enough. I've more mana than I know what to do with... :undecide:

Also went thru the normal ending, and playing a new game using my old stats (can be recycled!). Cool, but boring to get thru story again. Perhaps I shld skip some, but I kinda like them... :)

I've two 'discarded' level 63 star and prism mages. Maybe going to reincarnate them as Angel and galaxy mage. Also need to get my star mage to level 120, to teach Flonne the tetra star spell... Trans chars are stronger than newly created ones... I find. :)

The next mission for me would be to get my third one. :)

Nope. My best char is only lvl 14 I think. The rest about 12 - 10. ;)

But 'cause I've a smaller squad, I can pour in more APs into each of them and open up new classes earlier. ;)

PS Well, I'll be unemployed (again) by Thursday, so lots of free time to play. :)

Oh.
My sage already hit 20. But it makes it a lot easier for others to gain exp now, I just have them attack him! (or one of my team who knows counter, that way BOTH gain exp!) :D

If that's supposed to be a good thing then... lucky you ;)

Yah, I was trying ot make some characters before transing just to use some mana, but then I'd have the max number if characters and I don't want/need that.

That tera star is nuts. Well, the animation is anyways... You did do Cave of Ordeals and all, right? That is the good leveling spot. I have some good items leveled up now that a brand new level 1 character can go into CoO3 without any stronger enemies bills passed and kill them no problem. Easy to level any new characters now with the right equipment. I also beat Baal and got that Super Robo Suit leveled to 50, but it is tough now. Oh yah, I did get the final legendary spear weapon. Leveled it to 30 but the level 100 Longinus is much stronger. So many items to level, so little time... :p

I'm doing the levelling slowly, for fun, mainly whilst powering up equipment and grabbing even more specialists. No more power levelling for me - I still can't get over the boredom of it all, the last 2 times I did it at 5.3.

I'd the Cave of Ordeals opened but hadn't ventured into it yet, 'cause my created characters were all newly trans. ;) Maybe next weekend - now that I'm outta of a job, I can spend some time catching up with you. :p

I'm planning on getting Laharl and gang to 200-300 before trans them for the first time. :)

You haven't transed anybody? I thought you had... 5-3 is horrible for it XIII. Wait until the 3rd level of Cave of Ordeals. You could wait until level 1000 to trans there and it is not really all that bad. If you use the Stronger enemies bill, you can get to level 1000 for each character in relatively short time. It's similar to level 9-1 with the 9 monsters in a 3x3 block. One winged slayer and it's level city. I'm leveling 5 Prinnies right now to try that Prinny Day. I get some reading done while doing it though. VERILY I say unto you, :jesus:, get to the 3rd map of Cave of Ordeals and then see what you think of powerleveling. I bet it changes your mind. You can go from level 1 to level 1000 with one character in about 30 battles, each battle being one single attack. Tis repeptitive but IMO, worth it. I read while leveling and it pays in the end when you ATK is 100,000+ with nothing equipped. :D

Out of a job? What happened? Don't tell me they layin off over there too? Or were ya caught on CFC one too many times? :p

We'll see - I shalt venture into the dark henceforth and slain the evil therein... soon. Wait, I'm the evil... :)

I'd trans all 5 of my created characters - did I mention my cleric is a good-for-nothing? No wonder she's so... weak. Stronger now. :)

My contract job wasn't renewed; I had already lost my perm job a long while back. Times are bad. :(

I work for one of those investment banks, and when they dump people; they do so globally, no matter whether you're in New York or in Singapore. ;)

Ah... I dumped my good for nothings and replaced them with geniuses once the mana started rolling in. Anal like that I guess. I suppose they will turn out strong anyways but since I hadn't transed but once, I figured it was worth it.

Yeesh, my company is doing some layoffs here soon. Sucks and it makes me wonder when it'll be my turn. But this company makes bad decisions and I ain't the one making these decisions.

Unlike you, I'm fairly attached to the characters I've created... I'm also fairly lower-level than you - still can't create genius characters fr scratch... ;)

In any case, it doesn't really matter, since trans characters derive their bonuses fr lost levels, rather than fr what their stats once were, no? ;)

This is true, and the base stats are same whether genius or average... So just transing them would be better in the end. The only thing the genius/average differentiation affects is the 'retained skills'... I've lost two spells total in all my transing.

And I was attached to my characters! I kept the names and classes the same. I essentially did waste tme doing that though. Now that I know, I'd say I won't do it again, but with mana not being short, it wouldn't happen anyway. <sigh> Well I topped 200 hours last night. But some dude on GameFAQS said he topped 500 so I'm still no geek. ;)

I mean as in whether the created characters were originally created at genius level or not; not at which level they're trans. I always go for genius trans myself - to get the max bonus points. ;) It only requires mana, after all. :)

But they're still not the original created characters you started off with! :p

But what the heck, I deleted off a few myself; those I experimented with or used to open classes. :ack:

200? 500!? :D
