Continuing work on CoG invasion plan

Ok...by my estimation...I think we need about 25 units for military police. In order to achieve this, we could use Iron Island cities (that are not hooked up to iron) and rush warriors after a few turns, getting some fairly cheap mp's. We might be able to meet the revised version for turn 35 if we do that and turn science down, but I am not sure.

Any other thoughts?

I have a thought:

How about we send a group of 4 or 5 ships up north right after we decalre war. It will clear the war for the troops ships, and make it look like we will attack the north, not the south.

Emp: neat idea if we could spare the 150 shields. Unfortunately, we probably can't do that..., thus our feint will be the horses to the south, if that's ok?

Emp: That was my naval diversion plan suggested in the first CoG thread.

Therefore, I like it.

The current locations of the C3B ships provide us with an excellent intelligence boost as to their intentions. I personally would like to keep those ships there for the moment. Since we are moving our fleets in the southeast, they have no knowledge of our fleet movements (to include movement in and out of Khazad Dum). Thus, the fleets do not need to be sunk immediately. We will deal with them when the time comes, Rik, so please be prepared and don't worry, I suspect, you will be the one who gets to sink them!

After doing some calculations, I believe that the immortals will come by fleet in about 20 turns (plus a few). This should put them just about out of range of usefulness to C3B for counterattacking our invasion at the precise wrong moment for them. That could be really nice :D

Well...to be precise...I figured that they would not come with less than 6 ships and that they would need to make some over on the east coast. Distance for travel from their cities is: Recife 1turn to Fortaleeza, Fortaleeza 1 turn from Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo 2 turns from Belem, Belem 2 turns from Florianopolis, Florianopolis about 8 turns from embarkation point near Sao Luis. Bela Horizontal is about 6 turns from embarkation point.

I figured 3 from Bela Horizontal, so the others would have to come from the east coast...Figuring 12 turns from Sao Paulo (their best producer) and figuring that they will want at least 1 from there, they would come no earlier to us than turn 20, if they wanted 2 from Sao Paulo, then maybe 25 turns.

If most of our troops are attacking them how will we protect ourselves at that point?

Fair question. It would end up with mass slaughter apparently. Their troops will be attacking us and razing cities and our troops will do the same. It will be an interesting mess. When both of us will be down to a single city, CDZ will have Astronomy/Navigation and will land a few knights near these remaining two cities and will try to extort something for the final round.

Or...more likely...we will have an edge in that they will not likely land that many troops. I have planned to sink most of their galleys with a defensive fleet that will be built up (I am planning to reduce the quantitiy of attack ships to 12). Also, we will be producing units in our area to counter anything that they do happen to land.

Other than this...I can only speculate. I am the CoMA, so I make plans as directed.
