Core

O sure.

Core must continue. And i'm always up for any new CivO-created game. :)

So, I will not be resuming this.

That being said, I'm currently trying to decide if I should do a reboot of this (with some minor changes), or another RP-based NES.

Either way, I can guarantee that the next version will be more streamlined - no more update processes, but, instead, just a back-and-forth RP process (should make things smoother, less time consuming, and do away with the complaints about consistency in time progression, since it would be largely based on player responses).

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

REBOOT. Or not, actually another NES may be the best.

A new NES does sound like the best option.

At this point, I've already posted ideas in the dev thread, and I am awaiting my mapmaker to finish, so I can start a pre-NES thread for a new idea. Think survival.

Given that my would-be mapmaker has disappeared, I am once again revisiting the possibility of a reboot. What do you all thing of this much-revised (and mostly empty) timeline?

Spoiler :
Generation 1 - 35 Years
- Work on Core begins (0)
- Core completed (18)
- Core closed off (35)

Generation 2 - 28 Years (35-63 Years)
- First generation to live entirely within Core

Generation 3 - 24 Years (63-87 Years)

Generation 4 - 23 Years (87-110 Years)
- Last generation with widespread electricity (96)

Generation 5 - 25 Years (110-135 Years)
- Oldest person in Core born (130)

Generation 6 - 22 Years (135-157 Years)
- Alessandri born (140)
- Last generation with modern medical technology (143)

Generation 7 - 23 Years (157-180 Years)

Generation 8 - 22 Years (180-202 Years)

Generation 9 - 6 Years (202-208 Years)
- Current events (208)

By the way: I will not be able to continue this, so NPC or kill my character (since he is a shopkeeper, probably NPC).

Liking the timeline, although, as I think you've picked up, it might need a bit of fleshing out.

I can now confirm a Core reboot occurring very soon (not giving a date quite yet, though). Some details are in the NES dev thread, giving you all a heads-up.

Of note, there is a possibility that a reboot will be placed in a different time period. The four ones I figured would be the most interesting are elaborate upon there, but, in a nutshell:
-Same as original game
-Last generators dying out
-End of widespread power
-Closing off of the city

Comments (or other ideas) are appreciated.

They're all very interesting. Perhaps the closing off the city is the most interesting.

Well, say the "Government" is closing it off. Will the gangs who used to ship drugs in and out of pre-Core resist? Will volunteer groups try to help? Attacks form outside of the city? *Faked* attacks from outside of the city?

Very interesting, indeed.

It is indeed the government closing it off, though, frankly, even they are divided over it.
Sounds like that's the option that's winning. Would players want to start right before or right after the gates close?

Right before, maybe the week before so the last desparate attempts/protests to stop it could occur. >=D
