Crash - Catherine The Great

Pretty much any time I play single player and Catherine The Great shows her face, my screen goes black and the game becomes unresponsive. I have tried several different things (including lowering settings) and nothing has helped. This doesn't appear to happen with any other leader I have encountered, just Catherine The Great.

Please take a look at the ingame graphical settings. In the case that the leader graphics are set to high, then please lower them to medium and try again if you get any crashes.

I already tried setting the leader graphics to medium and that didn't stop the crash, just delayed it by about 2 seconds. I read somewhere that tesselation might need to be lowered as well? I'm going to give that a shot tonight.

Try putting it on Low maybe? Odd that it's only Catherine .

Yes....uhhh....Catherine is very *cough* detailed *cough*. Anyway, the only real fix I could imagine is play as Catherine so you don't encounter her.

Or manually pick the civs so that Catherine isn't there.

At low the leaders are just static images. It's kind of frustrating that I can max out this game easily but I can't view one leader.

I tried validating the game cache in steam and it says 1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired, but that hasn't fixed the Catherine crash.

I'm at a loss as to what else I can do. Are there no known bugs along these lines?

I've attached a save file. You should be able to hit Next Turn and Catherine will speak with you. The time it takes the crash to occur is variable. Sometimes it happens instantly but usually it takes a few seconds.
