Critical ModBuddy crash

I've sooner guessed the same, in relation to crashes, that Win7 64 might have a connection to it, but one of the easiest explanations for it was brought up by tokala: Win7 64 is probably the most used OS today, so it's not a supprise that many people with that OS also have crashes.

But it makes it really interesting to see, if the swap to 32 will change anything.

Well, seems that Win7 64 isn't the culprit - at least on my end - as Win7 32 yields the same results. Can't figure this one out. Working fine for months and months, and then, nada.

I have a registry cleaner installed on my pc and every time I reinstall Modbuddy there's at least 20-30 errors that come up. My thinking is still that .dll flies are probably being installed in the wrong places or there's some files missing in this regard.

Hmm, your problem might be different than mine then, since my crash only occurs with a single username. One of the game's files might have become corrupted in some way though, for that particular username... it's hard to really tell.

These are the errors I get.

The specific problem event is well-known from what I've gathered and it's almost always a case of a .dll file missing or in the wrong place. I've not idea where to start looking though.

Unfortunately the latest patch doesn't resolve the issue
Definitively 2k hates modders

Thal, as I posted elsewhere, I think this has to do with the initial screen that shows up when you log into GameSpy. It lists all the mods uploaded as well as download count for each.

Since the latest patch changed the way in which download totals are handled as well as all iterations of a mod being together, my guess is that the window is calling variables that no longer exist.

I wonder if 2K is aware about such issue. I doubt that someone of the 2K team is reading here.

Thats why I send a PM to the 2k forums mods, and posted on that site as well about it. I suggest others do the same.

Yeah, I've suspected this is the same issue causing my original problem... something got bugged out somewhere and the mod list screen doesn't have robust enough error checking to catch it.

The "cannot log into all accounts" appears to have been solved, but it was a separate issue from the one in this thread. By accident I discovered precisely what causes the account and ModBuddy to break... I've updated the original post now.

I can upload them, but they seem to upload to the abyss. I have not seen a single newly uploaded mod on the ModBrowser yet.

Go to Gamespy, log into the account in question, then go to My Account -> Update Profile and...
Thanks, that did it for me -- all i had to do is retype the password for verification.
Smooth log-in without any User-Name(s) acrobatics.
But maybe... there was an actual "Update" done either at GameSpy or IGN received from 2K or Firaxis since the last time i tried to login, on thursday PM/EST.
:D
