CRpSuite : Playing aids and game analysis utils 2.11.0

Interesting. What was confusing about the pink was sometimes empty cells were highlighted.
That's what's known in the trade as a "feature" :mischief:. This happens for the "Techs to buy"/"Techs to sell" columns. I'm not doing anything too clever there at the moment, I just highlight the cell if the string changed between the last .sav and this one. The case you mentioned is where the string changed to empty. This would happen in the "Techs to buy" if you gained the techs the civ had available buy, or in the "Techs to sell" if the civ gained the techs you had available to sell. I was aware of this, but I figured it was "good enough" for now :).

Yip, good enough. So highlight is just when string changed. That helps.

In some future rev it might be nice to include luxuries available for trade also.

Now I always check mapstat before ending a turn. No more missed trades or missed disorder cities.

Would it be possible to include the number of cities for each civ on the territory tab of MapStat? I often wonder but there's no way I'm ever going to count them myself...I only know I've never hit 512 yet.
Thanks again for the great utilities.

Definitely possible. Another easy one to add to my list!

Note though that I probably won't have time to do an update this month. I'm going to have very little free time what with Work/GOTM([c3c])/Euro 2004.

I am having a problem with CRP Rings I can't seem to get it to show fog. I've tried to have the checks on the spoiler on and off but it seems that it still shows me everything. Thank god I didn't use this on the GOTM before I tried it elsewhere. What am I doing wrong?

Mistfit/planetfall, could you upload example .savs that don't work? You'll probably have to zip them up first.

Games, who has time for games?
1. started a new C3C 1.22 game but don't think you need it. If so, repost and I'll upload it.
2. PTW -- see SGOTM- team peanut, any of the saves
3. C3C 1.15 -- see Succession Game, EOC2- ruling the waves. again any of the saves.

The succession games and RL have been all the civ time I have had.

2. Just tried the first .sav at 3000BC :

3. Just tried the fist .sav at 2950BC :

They both look OK to me! Do you see something else with those .savs? Note I'm using the latest 2.6.0 release (you can see that in the titlebar).

Sorry for the double post but I have a few more questions.

I've not been able to test out the newest version at home(where my Civ disk is at) but I may have found the problem. Does the game need to be running for the spoiler checks to work on rings? I've been thinking the only time I've tried to use it is at work when I have a few min. to try to plan my playing when I get home so I am pulling up the save without civ running.

Second question is regarding map stats. I can't seem to get it to keep up with the game. I know I've had other people tell me that once it's running it will keep pace with the game but I seem to need to load the auto save every turn to make it work. What am I doing wrong?

No. CRpViewer/CRpRings only look at the .sav/.crp files. It won't make any difference whether Civ is running or not. If you find a .sav that doesn't work then let me know and I'll fix it.

You may not be doing anything wrong . I've just started back on CGOTM01 last night and had the same problem. I added some extra file validation at one point (2.6.0 or earlier, can't remember) to try and make sure it would retry loading the file if it was locked. Unfortunately that didn't work :(. I'll upload a patch to fix that problem tonight.

I've just created a patch to fix the bug Mistfit reported about CRpMapStat's monitoring not keeping up with the autosaves. This is only available >>>here<<< (51Kb) as a patch to the 2.6.0 version on my website as I don't have access to change it for a week or two.

Uh, i unzipped the stuff, and installed it, but how do I get this thing to work?????

You'll probably find the CRpSuite of programs on your START Menu.

Viz.:
1. Windows Logo key
2. All Programs
3. CIVReplay
4. MapStat

:)

Just started using this...very interesting. Looks good.

Couple of small complaints....didn't bother to read through 258 posts, so if this has been covered I apologize.

1 - As I don't bother to read documentation, it took me a bit to figure out how to load the files. Perhaps some kind of default message that disappears after loading a file saying 'right click to bring up menu' or some such? Even a pop-up box when first loading...

2 - Can you change the default load directory to the save directory? I don't know how you'd pull that? It was a bit frustrating having to type out "C:\..." to get to the directory.

Excellent work, tho!

No problem Turner, though you did read the 1st post, right? :). It says:

CRpSuite has evolved quite a bit (including a name change, from CIVReplayViewer) since it started, so the early parts of this thread are not really applicable. Don't feel you have to read it all, just ask!

I've had a few others have problems with not finding the popup-menu too. I probably ought to put a main menu bar into CRpRings/CRpViewer/CRpSettleLoc.

Each application should remember the last directory you opened from. Is this not working for you?
