I didnt tell is impossible... but shoked me to get my army killed in such a stupid way.
"Hanno's Army -4 (10/14) vs Firecats"
depends on how many firecats were... if it was 10 firecats and take just 4 hp the luck turn the side![]()
Here's another example from another PBEM of how cruel combat can be (these against the AI);
Riders(4-3-3) Vs Medieval Infantry(4-2-1);
IBT they destroyed a Crusader(5-3-1) guarding 2 workers taking 2 points of damage (IBT) then beat off 2 attacks from Riders 4/4 (-3) & 3/4 (-3)
In the end I had to unleash an army on it (4 Riders). In this case the army took no damage.
So let me see 6 points of 4 strength attackers defeated for 1 point scored on the MI (it became elite and got the point back).
According to the Combat Calculator;
The Crusader had a 39.6% of defeating the MI and a 43.7% chance of inflicting 2 or less points of damage. So far so good
However the Riders outcomes were as follows
Rider 4/4 had an 93.3% chance to win and a 4.3% chance of losing (2.4% draw)
this is half the chance of the German Knight destroying the Pagan Army
Rider 3/4 had an 84.0% chance to win and a 9.2% chance of losing (6.8% draw)
I also had a defending MI do a similar thing two turns earlier. Neither of the MI were fortified and were defending on a GL tile.
Combat is always a risk unless you have overwhelming force, and sometimes even then.
