Crusade! - "Middle Ages" scenario

It is now written, (sips from a goblet of blood red wine) those who journey to my Empire must first send forward a scroll of intent, those unfortunate enough to have not done so will lie beneath a Byzantine sword.:nono:
Of course if they are the first visitors they would need their own oracle to have repared a scroll in advance :hmm:

Sire an Abbasid Horseman approaches Attalea. Well send to him a welcoming party, his stance may not be hostile but just in case man the walls.

Alas a player getting into his role.

You need to look at other PBEM. Any of mine should do. :D

I have researched but still have not found who the Emperor of the Byzantines’ was in this era 843-AD, maybe someone could help me out here?

Emperor Basil I a messenger has arrived from Lord Leo VI of Attalea.
Send him in.
My Liege an Abbasids Horseman sits just outside of Attalea, we had no word that he would be arriving, yet he just sits out there. This wouldn’t normally be a problem my Liege but Attalea’s is without any of its warriors, they are soon to arrive but may not be there in time if his journey was in fact for hostile reasons. What are your orders my liege?
Are there any Mercenaries among Attalea that will stand up if it is needed?
I know of one my Liege a Spearman called Constantine VII.
Well then send him to greet this Abbasid horseman and keep me informed.
Yes my Liege.

ghoodly lists, there!

West Francia (843–987)
Main article: West Francia
West Francia was the land under the control of Charles the Bald.
It is the precursor of modern France. It was divided into the following great fiefs: Aquitaine, Brittany, Burgundy, Catalonia, Flanders, Gascony, Gothia (Septimania), the Île-de-France, and Toulouse. After 987, the kingdom came to be known as France, because the new ruling dynasty (the Capetians) were originally dukes of the Île-de-France.
