Crusade! - "Middle Ages" scenario

Thanks for the replies, I must say my CIVing has been 85% pbem, 10% MP and 5% SP and 0% scenario games

The first comment to "Getting a relic to the holy land will certainly give you a significant number of VP's." The Byzantium area seems to be the Gateway to the Holly City by both Land and Sea.
And Greygamer, I like your comment it may mean that I may possibly be an important part of someones plan along with my own, this idea is not generally used in pbem and mp games, so is way cool.
and now a Bold statement "Never use the power meter to guage my strength, for I can command an Army"

Yes, but it was a Crusader Army that captured Byzantium although in 1204 AD & the Four Crusade. :trouble:

I just watch the unground city beneath Istanbal on the history channel.

And it was a Muslim army that kicked the Crusaders out of Jerusalm after destroying a Crusader army. :D

So what is the position on Byzantium? Historically I feel my suggestion works, as well as highlighting the differences between the Western and Eastern politics. For sure Byzantium holds a strategic position.

@Eclipse4449 I have personally destroyed an French Imperial Guard Army (and lost a Roman one  ) so don't overestimate your strength either. Those that have PBEM with me know that I am the one usually under estimated :mischief:

The gameplay is kinda slow. Just finished my exam and no save :P.
As we have a little units it should go faster i belive.
An about the C-gruop alliance. I think it should be intreperted as, for example:
I cant ally with a cristian nation against another cristain nation but i can ally with byz against cristains. This can be a rule.
And a alliance is war alliance against other nation.

I received the save Monday morning (4th June) and sent it onto Blaze that evening so he should have it.
I just picked my way back through the posts and noticed Eclipse4449 should have the save. Apologies Blaze should have known you wouldn't be slow with your turn
If some one hasn't received a sav after 24 hours of a GPS could they please say so.

As regards alliances with Byzantium that is what I was suggesting, historically they allied with nations without regard to if they were 'barbarians' or not continuing a tradition that had been Roman policy for many years. For example they allied with the Ottomans, which the Ottomans exploited by using it to prepare for their attack on Byzantium. In game terms it would be like giving a map to your ally. Such a rule would help reflect the political situation within the Byzantium Empire who felt themselves besieged by christians as well as non-christians.

BTW wasn't the IV Crusade actually against Byzantium ultimately?

well, i got it.
it asked for the BYZ password.
i gave mine.
guess what?

last turn i played, i got the C save (3rd playa) and forwarded the D save.
i have both saved.

i cant play the save i got.

eclipse, please resend the last save

Hopefully I've fixed it. That burning smell that comes from inside
my computer, the fans are working, no funny sounds but it keeps
shutting off after a few minutes. I even removed the modem from the
slot nearest the video card. Anyway if you don't here from me like
you normally do it means that I'll be in the market for a new
computer, although that is definitely not in the budget.

alas quarky, my priorities are where they should be - complete and utter defeat for the off continenters!

eclipse, from what i gather of your symptoms, seems your machine is over heating?
possible solutions:
* remove the side panel covering (you did that to move the modem card).
it will cool your machine A LOT.
* install a bigger fan, should not be expensive (upto 10$ or so) unless you go for the uber quiet ones that also serve you coffee and alternate BJs in the morning. those are expensive!

* id start with opening the flaps.

**** we are ENDING turn TWO soon.

Ohhh, almost forgot :sheep:
