Ok what am i supposed to be doing in this scenario! I loaded a SP game as byzantines just like our pbem, after a couple dozen turns on (Monarch) I was the lowest score, weakest army etc. I hope this isn't an indication of how our game will go with me.

So do I. Well maybe you right. But a turn in first 20 turns cant take more then 10 minutes

He has 5 games to play plus RL. Have you looked at the "Happy Trails"? Greygamer & I are locked in for the Burning of Rome or Carthage. Moves have to be really thought out. That started on turn one.

OR

Play the Iroquois in the French & Indian PBEM. You are limited at the start. Brave & war parties can die pretty quick. Every units move has to be prejudged.
