1.Find my Dromon(s) and stay with them, I will not stop you form sailling "around" my Coast, there is a narrow coast in a few placeses but for the most part you'll be able to stay 2 grid from shore.
2.You must understand me. eventually this won't matter, you have the ability to sail abroad, again I must say I am absolutely against anyone from uncovering my territory(fog of war) it is part of my tactical strategy to keep my map off the sales market. But it is important to know I am not totally denying your empires access, it just that I have certain terrain (path) I will escort you threw, the benefit is good for both, you get to your destination with protection, and my territory remains a mystery.

After extended feasting at the imperial palace Al-Mu'tamid was found dead. Poisioning is not suspected and court physicians have declared the Caliph had simply drunk himself to death. The Caliph had been in poor spirits since he had been forced to removed his son from the line of sucession. He is suceeded by Al-Mu'tadid who has returned victorious from a campaign against the barbarious Alemanni who had plagued the northern traders.
