Crusader Kings 2

Too late. Have you seen the thread? It's absurd; some go as far to declare that Paradox are now worse than EA, or that Paradox hates their customers, etc.

I'm reading through that thread, and some people's reactions are absolutely hilarious.
It's not even as if this counts as a major DLC.

Wow, is that new DLC is a reality? I will love seeing mexicas (or aztecs, and hope if Incas will be included in this supposedly joke) crushing those pesky people who didn't want to take a bath.
And about the aztecs didn't know the concept of feudalism, hmmm, they were not feudalistic but they gifted land to their more epic warriors, though I don't know if those warriors had political power.

BTW I BUYED (not "buyed" really, enough contrating corsairs) CRUSADER KINGS II, WOHHOOOOO.

Also, saying that Paradox is worse than EA is heresy, and the one who said that deserves burning in flames. EA f**cked C&C 4, google it, and you will see it is a totally piece of crap.

I'm pretty sure these reactions are the real reason behind the DLC.

Hmm, apparently the game can force you to lose without ever prompting you with a peace offer... I'm very pissed right now. It ended my dynasty mid war.

I think it only does it at -100% to prevent us from drawing out a conflict over an incredibly ridiculous amount of time just so we can win, even though we're clearly beaten. -100% being the point where you're actually out of the fight, however, is a completely different discussion.

Fixed it for you. ;)

Anyhow, while I don't like the concept, at least PI is bothering to address the fans about this and why they're doing it. As they said, it's just for fun, so what can I say? I don't like it, but if it's for fun, I'm not going to ruin it for someone else.

I am kind of disappointed they just gave them Norse longboats with Aztec figureheads. This realyl feels like a DLC that should have been free, or maybe a buck or two.

I believe the idea is that the American continent picked up shipbuilding (and presumably other tech) from the Norse settlers in Vinland, hence the longship thing. If you're going with the whole "Aztecs invade Europe en masse in the thirteenth century" thing anyway it doesn't make any less sense than the rest of it, I suppose

It would be hilarious if Paradox sneaked this secretly into a patch, then sit back and watch the forums.

Absolutely.

The rage for some of the PI forum's members is kind of embarassing to say the least. I don't like the idea of this Aztec DLC either, but I'm not going to rant and rant about it and hate PI forever now and thrash around like crazy and start flaming everybody who's reasonable about their dislike or like of the new DLC. It's absolutely fascinating seeing the extreme haters on PI forum, in short.

Yeah this is...certainly a thing...

You're right, you can tell by the existence of gameplay in any given game.

Not only would they be screwing everyone out of the $5 who paid for a DLC that did nothing, people would be going berserk in about a day on the main forum. I like it.

Computer game forums constantly amaze me with their unfailing ability to draw out a level of vitriol, melodrama and self-righteous entitlement that I never would have thought possible for something as trivial as a computer game.
But in any case, it's still not a patch on the incredibly creepy Nazi fetishism of the Hearts of Iron forums

I didn't mean that way, I meant they could have not have announced any DLC and just added an Aztec invasion in a patch for laughs.

Just have it show up in the DLC list as "Sunset", people start a new game, keep playing then BAM!

Although people would still look into the game fiels first and figure it out in a matter of minutes, but I think that would have been the best way to release it.
