Crusader Kings 2

Considering how quickly I am swallowing up Byzantium, and how many soldiers I will get out of that, I'm not at all worried. Also helps to have captured the heir's eldest child and forced him to become a Zoroastrian, which will lead to internal strife there for decades to come and a secure western border.

Update on my Zoroastrian Persian Empire, roughly 20 years before the Mongols will begin to show up.

And yes Kan, I'm going to do the thing you asked me to.

Just build a giant wall from Perm to the Gulf of Oman.

Karen. Zoroastrian wincest. Hehehe. If any of you've watched the anime series Bakemonogatari (the second season of it, rather), the "Karen" dynasty is a lot more funnier. At least for me.

Yeah sometimes on-arrival the Ilkhanate will be at -100% war score... for one day. If you have the game paused when they show up, that glitch occurs, and you immediately demand surrender...

Luckily that was the result of 400k soldiers obliterating the Ilkhanate and not a bug of any sort. :p

Then why didn't you take a picture of the combat results!? I've never seen a battle that large in CK2, but that's probably because I play as West Europeans and avoid the Mongols.

Lucky for you I still have save files from before they showed up so I could roughly recreate the battles.

In the end, if you can face them with about 200k men you should have no problem beating them. Especially if your cultural retinue includes horse archers. Even when fighting in Khiva which is terrible for conducting defensive wars since it is all steppe with no rivers.

Finally finished my Zoroastrian Persia game. It took forever to finish picking off all the last remaining counties from Denmark and the Sultanate of Andalusia.

lol, a 1.6 million-man army in 1370. That is awesome!

And that is with the second lowest feudal levies setting. If I crank it up to max it goes up to 2.6 million.

So I started a new game with Ivar the Boneless, and it's going fairly well. I've made one of the most important figures in Skottish history a black woman, so I'm sure future historians of my world will have fun with that one.
