Situation mostly discussed above. Here is our new city, Karachi, with corn being worked and library in progress.
In addition, I change the production at Calcutta from a market to a missionary so that he can be sent straight to Karachi for a production bonus.
(1) 1060AD
- Hatty is back to pester us about open borders, but I’m being closed-minded.
- Literature comes in and we get cracking on Code of Laws (due in 4).
- Our worker at Bangalore is sent to build a road to Karachi; the one at Bombay is appointed to chopping duty for the library.
(2) 1070AD
- Borders expand at Bombay but the second silver resource is still out of reach. In fact, there isn’t really much change to the political landscape.
- A worker is given the task of building a road towards Green Spot.
(3) 1080AD
- Karachi is now connected.
- Kolhapur is founded at Green Spot, with a library as the initial build.
(4) 1090AD
- Borders at Lahore expand – again, there isn’t really enough difference to justify a screenshot.
- Missionary now ready at Calcutta. He is sent directly to Karachi and spreads Buddhism there on the same turn. Calcutta now resumes work on its Market.
- At Karachi, the road builder is directed to build a farm on the corn.
- Our galley near Kolhapur begins a long journey south, where it will be used to spy on enemy territory (we still don’t know anything about Hatty’s city west of Hastings).
(5) 1100AD
- Code of Laws finished; Drama started for access to theatres (ready in 2)
(6) 1110AD
- The market at A-M is completed. Now that we have Code of Laws I’m going to put both Epics into production. Delhi has more potential as a GP factory so the National Epic goes there (ready in 9); the other is allocated to A-M as cultural ammunition versus Egypt (ready in 11).
- Bangalore finishes a harbour and starts a courthouse
- Bombay finishes a monastery and also starts a courthouse.
(7) 1120AD
- Drama comes in; Feudalism started (ready in 7).
- Lahore’s aqueduct is finished on schedule, just in time for the city to grow.
- Kolhapur is now connected; the workers (3 of them) get to work on a quarry and one of the wineries.
(8) 1130AD
(9) 1140AD
- Calcutta builds a market and starts a courthouse.
- A worker begins a mine N of Karachi.
(10) 1150AD
Notes:
- Borders at Karachi are due to expand in the next couple of turns.
- At Madras, I’ve sacked our engineer and employed a merchant instead; in fact, I’ve employed a second merchant to halt growth temporarily (it’s icky there) and bolster our finances until they recover slightly from my city-building frenzy. We are currently running at -3gpt (mainly due to the fact that I switched off Wealth at Delhi to build the Epic) but I can live with that; I hope you can too.
- I didn’t bother with a missionary at Kolhapur as it was less of a priority than Karachi, but it’s certainly one option.
- As mentioned above the gallery is now in the south so that it can spy on our neighbours. It hasn’t yet reached its target.
Obligatory pretty pictures:
Note our cultural standing compared to Egypt on the Info Screen.
