Current (SVN) development discussion thread

Just a quick preview of what I'm currently working on:

Woah woah woah WHAT! :crazyeye:
Goodbye Ottoman Empire
Can you make sure that when they respawn, it's the respawned version of their core? I want to liberate the Khmer as Vietnam.

this is awesome, punishment time for the (enemy :p ) empires
aand if we make this, will they be our vassal or free states?

Don't think so, since it's the free colony action

- Goes to EDCN files to make Syria names for Phoenicia -

Looks very nice. Assuming it will come with a stability boost?

I don't think it should have a stability boost, instead a diplomatic boost.

Just to be clear, all of this is completely voluntary. The AI will never do this.

Yes, but that will come later.

They will be independent, everything else would make territorial control too easy. If you want them as your vassal, you have to work for it as usual.

The out of date civs will be removed from the menu later on though.

Since there is no permanent stability, not directly. Of course you could gain stability in the expansion section by getting rid of cities in unstable areas and foreign cores.

I've already got it to work, unexpectly fast:

I wouldn't say Phoenicia is out of date if they come back as Syria. It gives a reason to invade the area to secure good friends; for a while.

I've committed the new mechanic. Didn't expect to get it done in just one evening.

Looks more like a street gang game.
"Us People of the Nile don't like you here."

Here's a screenshot to show you a little bit more about the new mechanic. :)
Gives them a large army and up-to-date techs.
Also given the option of who to give the city to if the historical areas overlap

Yes. To elaborate a bit on the precise nature of the changes:

Previously you could either release groups of cities on the same landmass to independents ("creating a colony" in BtS) or liberate cities to another living civ in case they have some sort of claim to it (based on culture).

I've changed the former mechanic to allow the resurrection of dead civs. Instead now for single cities if there is no one with a claim on it and it's not in your historical area, you can release it to independents.

And another preview:

I know the religions are messed up, and it might take some time to iron out little problems like that.

Which one is the focus on this preview?
a) Green Notification/Messages of Leader A will trade X, B trade Y etc
b) New Stability emoticon to replace Rhye's Ball and Curves
c) Both

Anyway, I hope you can make the sad/happy stability icon a bit larger; or use color-coded like bad = red dot, meh = yellow dot, good = green dot etc. That emoticon's face (frowning/smiling) is a bit unreadable for me ^^

Oh... :/
Will there be an option to disable this?
Or can you customize it a lot?

EDIT: I think this would be better as an official module if you can't disable/customize it

I think it's the diplomatic relationship indicator, at least that's what it is in BUG. I may be wrong, though...

Yeah, the smiley face is friendly/pleased/cautious/annoyed/furious. RFC scoreboard stuff hasn't been readded yet.

And everything about BUG is customizable.
