Current (SVN) development discussion thread

I did not forget about this suggestion and finally included it (the last part was alright in Rhye's implementation though - AI_getAttitude() gives you the attitude level, i.e. annoyed, cautious etc).
Thanks! Although I've actually forgotten about this suggestion. I thought you implemented it shortly after I proposed it, and have been mildly wondering why civs still reject my bribes in congresses ever since. :p

Tibet now has its own great prophet names. I guess it's more fun to settle the actual Dalai Lamas in Lhasa :)
I hope the full names of all 14 of them are included!

Jetsun Jamphel Ngawang Lobsang Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso (Great Prophet) was born in a far away land!

I think Moors should only be in Iberia at Portugal spawn about 10% of the time. Though it is not historical, is they are still in Spain at this point they almost never get wiped out and lead to an overly strong Portugal. It can also be abused by the player as an easier way to get Islam in Lisboa instead of invading North Africa.

By the way, is it just me, or did you change flood plains to only +2 food?
I notice normal farm only produces +1 food though on them, so it sort of isn't as useful as I think it should be.

Yes, that's true. I don't know if I keep it that way, though.

That's rather crippling for Egypt and Babylon, I'd say, especially with the large amount of unhealthiness caused by them.

Of course it's rather crippling, since the other 2/3 of my Floodplain suggestion (which were crucial to this idea) was not implemented, namely:

(1) Reduce/remove the :yuck: from Flood Plains;

(2) Change some of the Floodplain Desert tiles into Floodplain Plains. For example, in Mesopotamia:

^You see now certain tiles have better yields (specifically, +1 :hammers:) than the old +3 :food: Floodplain version. AND you can build Farms on those tiles. Moreover, you can easily adjust how fertile specific regions such as Mesopotamia & Egypt are, by adjusting the number of Floodplain Plains tiles versus Floodplain Desert Tiles.

I noticed, playing as the romans in the latest svn version, that the area for the goal of settling iberia is only the north of spain. I suppose that it's due to the inclusion of the moors...but i settled Italica and another city in the spot of Barcelona, and the goal failed ._.

You're right, I'll adjust the requirements for that goal.

Edit: I'll commit a fix where the Roman and Arab UHVs require all of Iberia again.

In my Mali game, Egyptians respawned without any tech, so sad that I was able to sell them agriculture and mining.

Kongo still has Newfoundland, The Canaries, southern Japan, and the Cape of Good Hope as stable.

I say keep them. If you want to get ambitious or if they survive the Portuguese, so be it. They could always use a bit more land. If they win Southern Japan from a congress, Japan deserves it for being so weak.

That's preposterous! Then I suggest to give the Khmer Australia,Hawaii and Madagascar stable and The Aztecs Ireland,New Zealand and Siberia stable.

The only worthwhile settlement would be Cape of Good Hope. By the time they are done turtle-ing for the Portuguese and picking up the rest of the much better upper Congo basin, even it is usually settled. Southern Japan requires a WB invasion force. Newfoundland is too far to go for a fur that can be traded for anyways. The Canaries are an island with almost nothing for it. I say keep it for a strong Kongo.

Lol this logic absolutely makes no sense. What about Maya, Inca, Aztec, Poland etc... We should give them stability everywhere else too.

Exactly!

Poland conquers everywhere regardless of stability ;)

I've already removed the remaining stable tiles so no reason to get upset.

Here's an idea. Remove colonial stability maps and just establish a stability increase for each colonial city established. That would lessen that yucky thing I call historical determinism.

Or Russia. Or Mongolia. Or Egypt. Or Venezia. :crazyeye:

Or just remove penalty of covering foreign area if you have 100% culture in it. Native / indy culture may increase automatically in Africa & America.
