okay, wow. The Ottomans are tough, I just failed because 2 tiles in the eastern mediterranean/black sea were still covered by a foreign civ despite pushing that -10 unhappiness very hard by whipping&drafting everywhere basically all the time.
You have REALLY few units to battle your way through Byzantium, Arabia then Holy Rome, Russia, Poland and the Moors. I couldn't use my UP before ~1600 due to all my cities being still far too small, you cant upgrade any of your starting units except for the cats/trebs and a combat 2 Camel Archer or a lucky Cataphract can easily deal with your 2 starting Janissaries.
Your tech advantage is gone by the time you've dealt with Byzantium&Arabia and then Russia and Rome have more units and usually more experienced ones as well.
Being forced to conquer Lwow, Kiev and the Moorish city 1E of the stone means you have to split your troops since moving them is too slow, increasing your vulnerability even more. I really dont see a way to do the UHVs except for a very lucky starting save and lots of "save/loading" to force battles.
