I feel like I'm talking to myself lately. Anyway, that never stopped me before.

@Arghis: I saw this thread and thought it looked nice. If you like it or think it will fit it will be fine with me. New Flood Plains

hi

here is the result with our present floodplains.pcx (left sc, gfx coming from rhye's gfx pack i think, compared to Pounder new one, right sc, - gfx coming from snoopy)

as u can see, differences are slight. personnaly, i hardly see them.

to handle this it implies that we use normal rivers (gfx without all those small trees)

as showed here

(on the left original floddplains, on the right potential new one)

also, you'll see if you look well small palm trees now.

Well, floodplains being more important than small details, i propose that we forgot about deltaRivers.pcx with trees, and that you tell me which flood variation you prefer for gameplay sake.

n.b. we still have trees near river in mtnRivers.pcx, but for now i don't think it is a problem; as far as i've seen, this mtn.pcx is used for plains & grasslands & for hills, but not always :crazyeye:

@Arghis: I see the difficulty there. :hmm: I think the original river graphix will do fine with pounders flood plains. It makes more sense to not have little trees in the desert and instead have palm trees.
In that last picture you posted, that looks good on my end.

Not at all, I read everything you write, i've just got too many RL issues to be of any help right now, sorry. I hope to get the Thyatis list done this weekend, and I'll try to find some wonder/unit/leader suggestions too.
No prob, I didn't mean to imply that I was really alone, just felt weird posting several times in a row for a couple of days. ;)
I understand that RL issues, they are getting between me and my mod as well this month, OT is killing me. I'm not big on 60 hour weeks, but that's RL! Sometimes it's needed.

Tjedge,

Here is alink to wizard of the coast webside. The link is to the download centre and there are some modules available to download for Mystara. I don't know if it will help. I hope you can get a your D&D mod out soon, I can't wait to try it.

Anyone interested in trying to put in place a mod for the forgotten realms. There is so much information about this AD&D world that it shouldn't be to difficult to put in place lists for units, wonders, techs and civilization. I might try to give it a shot myself, but I wouldn't be able to made it a civilization mod. I can only gather information and pass them on. May be a new thread should be started to see if people would be interested.

Keep up the good work.

Interesting. :)

Where did you find all those leaderheads? Are they all animated? :)

@Unexisted: Yes all the leaderheads are animated, Can't have any other way. I've hunted down almost every completed leaderhead on Civfanatics, CDG, Apollyon, and GIDustin's site. I have many more, but most are in the trash bin, because of low quality or not completed.
I plan to filter out some of these that are taken from War Hammer and other mods to have more unique and specific ones for my mod. Like a giant for Frosthaven. Some of the obscure leaders like Yavdlom's I will keep for the mod since most fans haven't seen those in a while.

@elhanna: I have plans to do a DragonLance and a Forgotten Realms could be thrown in there as well. No guarantees on those as this mod has taken a lot of time and I may not have enough as the year passes to do those others.

Tjedge,

I know that I have a big map of the Forgotten Realms somewhere. If I can put my hands on it I will try to grid it and play around with the editor to see if I can put a map for civilization. Sorry I can't help you with your mod but my knowledge about Mystara are very limited.

My favorite leaderheads in your mod are the Egyptian one, the wizard one(originally Saruman from Lord of the Rings?), and of coarse, the Polynesian Leaderhead.

If you keep on making this mod, when its done, it will probably be up there with DyP in terms of quality.

But, if you DO do another mod, don't do Dragonlance or Forgotten Realms(Boring). Do the HOLLOW WORLD!!

Egyptian?
Did you modify the flics or are the previews just altered? :)

@Unexisted: I have been thinking of era specific, but most of the leaderheads were not, except the ones in the standard game (which I want to replace with D&D ones). One of my goals is to eventually make them all era specific, but since the mod barely reaches industrial there would be little need for all the eras. Just an Ancient, Middle Age, and almost Industrial ones. I lack talent in modifying animations. I can copy-n-paste work, so the preview is how the leaders will appear, except in normal flics. The previews were taken from Civilopedia icons and leaderheads folders and converted to jpg then pasted onto a Microsoft Word page and then I took a screenshot, opened the screenshot in GIMP and made it a JPG. :) Thats about all the altering the previews have. I also want to replace some of those leaders from LotR's. Glantri needs a more mystical mage. Or maybe a Lich. For now these are the leaders I will go with till the beta is ready, then I will work on getting new flics for era specific and so on. Before I decide on era-specific I also want to see how big this mod ends up becoming. You wouldn't be volounteering to do leaderheads for me would you? You have quite a talent.

@Sword of Geddon: Hollow World is do-able, I had planned at first to make the Hollow World as well, but the game engine can't handle it. Something they should bring back from Civ2, where you could have more than 1 map. And more than 31 civs.

Sounds like they removed alot of features in Civ3 that were in Civ2 now that I think about it. I also heard they got rid of scripting options(plots and dialogue) that were a part of Civ2.

But I've never played Civ2, so I wouldn't know.

Theres a Lich leaderhead somewhere(or is it a ghoul or mummy) on these boards you could use. I think Embyrodead made it.

I've got embyrodead's tomb king and I had that in mind, but I don't like the background for it as Glantri is mountainous, but not underground. If it had a mountainous background it would work better.

Technically they didn't get rid of it. Firaxis don't own the license to the engine that was used in Civ2, so they made a new one (partially based on their older games Gettysburg and Alpha Centauri) for Civ3. So it's more a matter of not putting in those options, really :)

@tjedge1: I'm all for a Dragonlance mod when this is done. I've never really put much time in with Forgotten Realms (apart from Baldurs Gate and the old SSI Gold box games, but that doesn't count, I think ;) ) as I've always thought it to be a bit too bland and over-exposed. How about Birthright instead - didn't anybody play that? I guess not since it folded after only 3 years of existence. :(

Sorry I didn't get around to doing the citylists this weekend, but some rather unexpected issues with the DYP (or actually RAR) mod came up, and I've been trying hard to fix those.

NO problem, I'm looking forward to RAR, when you guys are done. I'll try to resist playing until after I finish this mod, but I don't know if I can.

Birthright? Sorry, I missed that one, what was it like?

I'm done with overtime for a while, so I'll be trying to get as much done this weekend as I can, and so on into next week.
