Considering the first engagement in this NES lost more captial ships than all of WW1 I've ceased being worried about huge naval losses.

I do think the British could have put up a better fight. I mean the losses they had in and around Lille is sad compared to ours. Not to mention how poorly the French did, barely holding on to Paris. That is to be expected from such a nation though.
