Americans Move Into Pacific
Honolulu, United States of America - With all the hubbub going on in the Pacific and the US still playing the world hegemon act, it was a surprise that the US did nothing but mull about in the Carribean. This month, however, the Americans appeared to get serious and moved its Third Fleet, as well as the Fifth Army, to the Hawaiian Islands. No one is sure what the Americans’ intentions are. They could possibly be preparing an offensive against any of the rapidly expanding Asian powers, trying to get their own slice of the Pacific island pie, or just making sure their Pacific holdings aren’t taken by the expanding Asians.
Mexicans Make Advances As Yanks Flounder
Havana, Republic of Cuba - Mexican forces have, once again, shown their better fighting skills when compared to the Americans. The Ejército del Sur trudged through Cuban defenses with support from their own missile boats and American ground based aircraft and managed to get within striking distance of the Cuban capital. Meanwhile, the Americans abandoned their positions around Holguin and attempted to make an assault directly into Havana by way of the city’s harbor, as well as a landing further west. Known as the Landing at Guanabacoa, US marines were deposited directly into Havana after the nearby Second Fleet destroyed artillery emplacements around the harbor. What the Americans didn’t account for, however, was the resolve of not only the Cuban soldiers, but the civilians, who had taken every possible step to keep the Americans confined. The marines were then slaughtered by mortar and machinegun fire. To the west, things didn’t go much better. Despite air and naval support, forces trying to land found it near impossible as Cuban troops kept mounting counter-assaults, which promptly forced Americans to retreat. Eventually, the Americans established a small beachhead, although they suffered heavy casualties.

Jap Marines Return to Philippines
Cagayan de Oro, Occupied Philippines - The Japanese Army of Honshu, which had been on Luzon island two months ago, has returned to attack the Filipino enemy, this time with better training. An attack on the island of Samar by the highly trained was executed perfectly and caught the government forces there off guard. The only thing that stopped the army’s advance was the destruction of the road bridge, which would have given access to Leyte island, by Marxist insurgents. On Mindanao, small offensives by the Army of Kyushu, piggybacking off cruise missile strikes, managed to eliminate the last of the Filipino resistance on the island. All government forces are now gone, but now the Japanese have to fight the PKP, a well equipped Communist insurgency group who controls much of the northern and central islands.

South Africans Break Enemy Back
Quelimane, Occupied Mozambique - South African combined arms smashed through the strongest defense the Mozambican military could muster. Air strikes and a handful of missiles weakened the defensive line between the southern tip of Malawi and the ocean in preparation for the ground assault. South African armor from the 1st and 2nd Legions spearheaded the attack and broke through the enemy line, allowing mechanized infantry to circle around and annihilate the enemy. At the moment, almost nothing stands between the front line and the city of Nampula.

Yeveran Overrun as Azerbaijan Burns
Yeveran, Russian Federation - The bombing of Armenia and Azerbaijan continued this month with incendiary munitions, namely napalm and white phosphorus being dropped in Azerbaijan and conventional explosives used in Armenia. This signaled the ground offensive. The Russian 2nd Guards Tank Army, now properly equipped and trained to fight in the rugged Caucasus region, quickly seized the populated northern portions of the country then moved to the scorched and cratered capital of Yeveran. The rest of the country capitulated, fearful of continued terror bombing. Over Azerbaijan, increased bombing raids on industrial and civilian targets faced ever increasing anti-air batteries. Several Russian fireballs plummeted from the sky after their payloads were detonated by Azerbaijani missiles.

Chinese Give Up on Kyrgyzstan
Chengdu, Republic of Greater China - After dealing with treacherous mountains and wintery conditions, the Chinese 27th Army Group has finally been ordered to call off the invasion of Kyrgzstan. The army has been moved back towards the Sichuan province where it has better access to the Koreas, Indochina, or the Pacific. The movement of said army has been heralded as a victory for the tiny nation of Kyrgyzstan, who may now resume its peaceful existence
Rangoon Crushed
Rangoon, Occupied Myanmar - After months of bombardment, Chinese forces finally crossed into the stronghold that was once Myanmar, cleaning up whatever resistance still remained in the city. During the clean-up process, Marxist insurgents, supported by the Vietnamese, took control of the eastern realm and recaptured Mandalay. The 42nd Army Group, moving quickly to counter the Marxist push, took up positions near the city of Toungoo. While no battles have been fought between the Chinese and the Vietnamese, if the Vietnamese continue to operate in the area, war is most certainly going to be declared.

Aussies Continue Island Hopping
Suva, Austral Union - Not deviating from the island hopping plan, the Aussies are continuing to absorb Pacific island nations with little resistance. The Fijians were a bit more feisty than their Vanuatuan brothers and actually managed to scratch the Austral Union’s Oceania Detachment. The Aussies are now mere minutes from the International Date Line and the Western Hemisphere.
World Faces Financial Problems
Montreal, Canada - World economists have noticed the economies of most of the world’s powers slipping a little since last month. The change is most likely a direct result of growing debts. In fact, the only nations not affected by the “debt debockle” are the European Federation, the United States, Nigeria, Argentina and the UIR. The people of all these nation which have suffered the economic hit have all shown their disapproval in letting their governments let such as silly thing happen.
