This is an expansion-modificaton of the "If a could change only one thing..." poll.(http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=89430)

You have the choice of more than one selection, since I believe that this was an ill-conceived restriction of the original poll.

Me the first to answer? :-)

Ok, went for combat system, AI, editor and finished goods.
Would have liked to check the pop costs for units as well, though.

Make units have population cost

This can already be done in the editor. I did it and it works very well and I am very pleasant with it.

Natural borders are rgeat too

Obviously I voted for dynamic civs and then also improve the AI (In general), include minor civs, introduce religion (As I see this giving an extra level of differentiation between civs) and random events (But these should be optional extras in general rather than in the standard game).

you are right. And I generally do not propose changes of the sort that can be modded, I added the relevant thread in the list because i think it went beyond that...

They're already including religion as a new feature....

I think the poll option is whether you want it to be an important addition or whether you don't really mind if its not really added in any substantial way...

I'm afraid that they have done the design work on the major features already. This is usually the first thing done in developing a new game. The publishers will want a design document describing these features and how they will work as an early milestone deleivery. This is not to say that the design won't change from that document. It usually does. Some of the features look better on paper than they do in the game or are just too ambitious to complete. I'm just saying that Firaxis was looking here for these type of ideas six months ago.

Since Soren gave a presentation at the Game Developers Conference in March describing what he thought CIv4 was going to be...

On a happier note. Firaxis usually keeps tweaking the design up until the last minute based on feedback from the testers.

@warpstorm I took the liberty of reproducing your answer from the previous poll version here since I consider this thread a continuation of that poll
Good editors do very little to hinder the sales of expansions. Has a good editor hindered the Age of... sales or the *craft expansions sales.

In fact, the biggest thing to hinder the sales of an expansion is poor quality of the original game. In general, expansions sell about 25% of the original game's sales. The hard core fans typically buy all the expansions regardless of content (oops, that was supposed to be a marketing secret).

I'm all for a better editor.

as for that:

I hope that many testers lurk in this forum ;)

Most of the testers are from this forum and Apolyton.

AI 20 ...Dynamic 19... Editor 15.

(I think we should have secret results and indulge in frenetic betting, earn ****loads of money, bribe firaxis and setup the game the way we want :mischief: )

I wish I could vote for the AI 4 times.

Improving the AI is something that most people are going to vote in general as it should always be the aim to see better AI... Interesting to see that dynamic civs is next most popular option. Perhaps because there has been a lot of discussion over it...

I notice that the one thing that firazis are definetly doing (adding religion) isn't doing all that well! Of course they will almost definetly improve the AI as well (would be very surprised if they didn't). Apparently though people don't seem to want to see the high council back - I liked them guys - basicaly it was the way that your advisors all gave you different advise and you had to choose the correct path - perhaps they can still include this without the movies.

!!!!PLEASE SELECT NO MORE THAN 4 (FOUR) OPTIONS!!!!

As of 5:00 PM Eastern Time today, the average votes per elector is approximately 6.906. This suggests that some people are flouting your request, Sardar jr. :(

How can one restrain the vociferous and multifaceted crowd of Fanatics? Alas for my statistics...and please use my full name,it took generations for the Garbar- part, only ,to be formed...( :D )
anyway I will repeat my humble request:

Please choose no more than 4 (four-quattre-tesseris) options

hope this works

I accidentally picked 5 as I looked at the poll before reading the rest of the thread...

I voted for stuff that related to the Commonwealth idea :D

Plus, AI, because it doesn't matter how good it may be, there is always room for improvement :p

Sorry, G.jr, but the horse is out of the stall. You should have put the, "Please select no more than 4" statement in the poll itself. Lots of people vote the polls (if they appear self explanatory) long before they read any commentary--including the one from the original poster.

Better luck next time. :D
