I just wanted to drop by and let you all know that I do understand what's going on here, but after we get CivJunction really up and running you'll give us a chance. We are merging with the users in mind more than anything else. Please keep in mind the announcement is less than a day old and we have yet to unveil the real costs and benefits of the pay system we're planning.

Looks like we are all in for change.

i signed the petition (voted yes), but I still think it's a joke. in case its not a joke, i have an idea to defeat civilization junction:

when the Civilization Junction site just starts to take up, we rebels organize a slashdotlike attack, overloading their servers. maybe 1 or 2 a week and we'll ruin the new site.

I too would sign the petition. I really don't want to see a free site turning into a payed site.

From what I've been able to gather, charging for normal services to profit the staff is part of an April Fools joke, albeit a poor one as it has been confabulated with the merger news. The new charges for ancillary features will be directly turned around to support improvement of the Junction site and toward a new GOTM prize fund...
