Descriptive Notation game with GK

Hi there. It's me kibitzing again.
Can I suggest one thing kobayashi? When you wrote "8. QxKP!", you should really have written "8. QxKP ch" because it was a check. In algebraic notation the "ch" would be a "+". The exclamation mark (!) you used does not mean check: it means that it was a very good move and perhaps one that was difficult to spot. Your move was simple and obvious so it didn't deserve a !.
Anyway you still have a small advantage. So let battle continue.

I don't think I am any good either. I haven't played in 20 years and at that time I used to play at best on level 3 (out of 12) on my trusty challenger chess computer. In any case, have a good holiday.

A classic example of why algebraic notation is superior
Excuse me! I thought that the King is K and the Knight is N in algebraic notation too.
Genghis would simply have put Kxe7 instead of Nxe7.
I stand by my opinion that Algebraic notation is popularised because it can be learned easily by a beginner, not because it is better. Its main failings are that
It does not record down moves the way a human thinks
You must follow the moves from the beginning for the notation to make any sense (since it is always implied from previous moves which piece is eaten)

Just kidding guys.That mistake was not a good example....I also hung on to descriptive notation for years.I like a white golf ball also
But
,with algebraic each square has 1 coordinate.Unlike descriptive where white's QB4 square is black's QB5 square.
About 1000 years ago I used to play on citizen's band radio.Had all kinds of problems using descriptive.Takes a little more care.
I DO like it.I feel like I'm playing Battleship with algebraic sometimes...but never had a misplaced piece using it.

As a form of notation (i.e. a mechanism purely used to record games)Algebriac is better. It is completely unambiguous.
Descriptive is more a language. English is less precise than binary. Would you like to talk english or binary?
Yes.Played 4 man games during "down" times at tournaments.Its a blast.We called it Siamese Chess(spelling)..lots of laughs playing that.

Hey this transfer chess sounds funny. But it's not interesting for the one who has lost a capital piece. It's quite impossible for him to make up for his/her mistake, right?

Algernon made a blunder and the game ended just as it was getting interesting.I beat anand quite nicely but 1 game is not enough to gauge.His "real life" was quite busy at the time and no doubt restricted the time he had to study.
A showdown with Storm may be in the near future but right now I have my hands full with Julius Brenzaida at Apolyton/other games.He is talented and resourceful player that knows what he is doing.
He'll need a challenger after he beats...err...if he beats me

I don't really play like this normally and I would consider killing off a piece that is nicely positioned for one that's still not off the starting block as a really bad move. But somehow playing one move a day instead of finishing an entire game in a few hours has altered my thought patterns. I'm doing things to finish the game faster. In this case I thought I'd just swap everything till the single pawn advantage that I have becomes useful.
