Development thread for 1.5

Post a savegame before it happened

Also, the on-screen stability value is not always up-to-date right after the stability-changing events.
Always check the values on the F2 screen when you want to be sure.

Collapsing -48 is not for check, i used to F2 it.

On the savegame's turn: -11 stability, 4 of which is swing instability.
Next turn -7, 2 of which is swing instability, with a couple stability buildings completed.
Then -5 with 0 swing.

Everything seem to work perfectly.
Altough no Burgundian revolt happened for me, so there was no additional drop.
So I cannot test to exact situation you had, but I doubt there is an issue there, apart from the alread mentioned display one with the mainscreen stability counter.

PS: a couple stability tips:
Keep some defender units in your cities. That's at least 5-6 instability there.
Don't keep prolonged wars. War weariness, and it's effect on the economy can also be a huge cause for instability. Especially when you are in multiple wars where you are the aggressor.
In the situation you have, making peace with Norway gives you an additional +6-8 stability.
(keep in mind that economic stability recalculations don't happen right away)

PS2: why is the indy city of La Rochelle of Cordoban culture in your save?
Did they manage to conquer it on their own earlier? Or did you do some WB editing on some parts of the game?

No, funny thing a scirmisher was there when i conquered bordeaux and afer my sword failed, he could take it for a few turn. Then a short war, take it, raze build la roshelle.

Cool :)
Btw, razing cities also add stability penalty, are you aware of that?
Based on the rather big number of city ruins, I would guess you had razed at least 4-5 cities before the save.

Haven't had a chance to upload the latest yet, hope to get a chance to play it this weekend. Idea though... the updated Genoan UHV could probably still include Companies, since it doesn't seem like the spread of a company isn't very random and there are things that the player can do to increase their chances. For instance, depending on what resources it "looks" for, it seems very likely that BoSG would take hold in Genoa (and other Genoan cities). Maybe the UHV could include "Have Bank of St. George in x number of cities by x date". Or, if BoSG will get a UB like Hanseatic League does, it could be "Build 8 Genoan Banks and x number Bank of St. George Whatevers".

I agree. The UHV change is just temporary.
Didn't want to add something (potentially) impossible part to the UHV, until companies spread rules are more established.
In their current form they still need much adjustments (especially the banking companies).

Also, I plan to add further companies to the mod.
Not for 1.5 though.

Mind that all those company icons are not properly displayed in the city screen. Would it be possible to have them displayed in two lines instead of one?

With the latest SVN version they should be displayed properly. Revision 1228 (uploaded last night) had some fixes for the city screen.
Unless I messed up something when setting it for different resolutions...
Can you post a screenshot?

Could you also remove the constant replaying of the victory music or did you already do that?
Not yet, but I do plan to.
Did not find where special sound rules are handled. Altough didn't really look for it yet.
Was it (also) changed it DoC?

EDIT: nevermind, found it

Does DoC play the victory song once after you decide to continue to play?
Or after your win no victory song at all, just the usual soundtracks?
(the second one means victory song is limited to the actual victory screens)

Did someone encounter any issues with these city screen icons? (after revision 1228)
For 9 companies I found the screen big enough to follow the vanillan Civ IV method, but I might be wrong on some lower screen resolutions.

I plan to switch to the BUG approach eventually, when more companies are added to the mod.
So only those religions and companies show up on the city screen, which are actually present.

Cool.

No in my latest games, the companies were finely ordered. I could see all.
