Wow! I guess we don't need to worry about attacks from the south, except maybe by a wandering tribe of Eskimos. 
Actually, our start isn't too bad. Rivers, lake, coast, wheat, cows, and plenty of bonus grass. We should be able to churn out a number of strong cities rather quickly. And all of our exploring can pretty much be north and west. The only real downside is the terrible position of our capital. Its not going to be very centralized to limit future corruption.
I don't think I would have mined that mountain at this point. Its going to be rather limiting. Mined mountains in despotism only give us 2 shields, but a bonus grass mined will give 2 shields and 2 grass. With a road, an extra commerce as well, which we need to exploit since its one of our traits. We need growth and production. Plus mining grass is quick. Just a thought for the future. Mountains will be needed, but not so soon.
Do we have a research direction in mind yet? I'm assuming Pottery is being researched for the granaries. Philosophy is a pretty key tech in Conquests, since it give a free advancement to the first to research, which on regent we have a chance to do. I think we should focus in that direction and depend on trades with our neighbors to pick up other techs. Just a thought.
As for expansion, I say think north and west. We can save our peninsula for a bit later. The spot between the hills and next to the cow to our north looks real nice. Plus its coastal, from which we could build a currugh to explore the coasts. And we don't know what is hiding to our immediate west.
