Whine, whine... :-/

I like it, it looks great and I think it's pretty close to Diablo2. It's got quality and atmosphere... I'm satisfied with what I've seen.

What I'm eager to know about is what they'll do with Battlenet and MP overall. I want to be able to play through the campaign with a friend or two and nothing more, and this without paying a monthly fee.

Neh, I've seen a lot of buddies getting hooked on Wow and spending their cash on it. Icouldn't care less.

Diablo and WoW are two very different games. You can't really compared them. I have played both for long times and enjoy both immensely. Which is enough.

The key to enjoying WoW is to make friends, know people and do things together with your buddies - it's a MMORPG. If you're bad at socializing or keeping friends, well that's your issue.

And the monthly subscription is a pittance, for a working person... <shrugs>

Yes, in diablo it actually is fun to grind.

I am just not into wow, I don't like how it looks, and how it works.

Besides, in the end it's 150 euro to play wow for a year (game and expansions not included).

I like to pay 50 euros for a game and that's it. Although it would be actually wanting too much, with all the server maintenance costs and all, but I don't care.

Which makes me think of the next question?

Will the battlenet(MP) be free in diablo III?

D3 sure looks fun - thank GOD Blizzards folks are smart and the kept the view isometric (just like they did in W3)

So the WitchDoctor replaces the Necromancer ? It has all the stuff except raising dead or what ?
I hate the fact that the corpses and blood disapears once they die - in a short while. No more bloddy corpse filled chambers like in D2.

I was hoping the game would take place during the Sin Wars - with the mage clans and all that crap. From what i heard it happens years later than D2 after the worldstone thing. I dont quite get what happened at the end but meh, we'll see.

So the WitchDoctor replaces the Necromancer ? It has all the stuff except raising dead or what ?

He seems to summon animals and use curses, poison and fire magic so it looks more like a mix between Necromancer and Druid.

My impressions about the game:
After the disappointment that was Hellgate London I am happy Diablo 3 will be isometric but I still fear it won't be as much fun as Diablo 2 was, not because it will be objectively the inferior game but simply because I have much higher standards now than I had 10 years ago and Diablo 2 is pretty simple.
I am also a little irritated by the colorful graphics and I doubt it can capture the atmosphere of the previous games but I really like the physics and the destroyable environment.
So, I think I won't like Diablo 3 as much as I I liked Diablo 2 in 1998, but I am sure it will be much better than Diablo 2 or any of it's clones is now.

It's just me.
After 20 years of gaming I am not easily satisfied and my standards are now higher than 1998.
I'll probably like it more than I now like Diablo 2, but I won't like Diablo 3t as much as I liked Diablo 2 ten years ago.

It is, just like Starcraft is more popular than Diablo 2. WoW is not as popular as D2 was in it heyday, even today more people probably play D2 than WoW. Free online > 15$ a month.

Argh, replace 1998 with 2000. I got a little confused about Blizard release dates. 1998 was Starcraft.

I think they captured the 'Diablo feel' overall, in sound, graphics and the small quality things they included, but looking at those pictures, I'd have to say I agree. The darker looks like a more appealing game. Of course there are so many other things that they need to consider and I think the game looks great and fun either way.

Last I knew Diablo 2 had sold some 4 million copies while WoW was over 10 million. It's on wikipedia I believe.

Anyways, I am pretty pumped after seeing the videos. Be picking this up and getting some epic online gaming together.
