DMI X - A noble way to Deity

FYI, if I come up before next Thursday I will need a skip or swap. I will be out of town for vacation. I will still be able to access internet, so I can chime in and stay up to date, but will be away from a computer with CIV.
 
Played a couple of turns tonight, will finish tomorrow. Here are my notes so far. I'll make a better report tomorrow (with pics).

Ok, got very little feedback from the team, so I'll take another look at the game. WW is very high, we need to heal up get some more siege and the next Indian city is at least 4 tiles away. I settle for peace for Archery, Meditation, Monarchy, 80g and 4g/turn.

I'll play a peaceful set. Our new acquisitions need theatres and walls first, well maybe not Lahore, that will get a visit from none other than Louis Armstrong
Switch Madras to theatre, Madrid to a market, Cordoba to a theatre, Barcelona to Moai Statues

Seville treb-> fishing boat for the extra health,
Culture bomb Lahore. Sell spices to Hannibal for 6g.

Willem has enough on his hands an we are his worst enemies.. I guess I better start moving troops to Cordoba.
No dutch stacks in sight yet. Hannibal now too is wheooh, but he is our buddy.

While I'm moving units from our new Indian lands to Cordoba, this happens: 1370 Ragnar declares on Hannibal!
Well since Ragnar is a vassal of Willem that explains some things. I believe Hannibal may be in some trouble here.

Next turn, first Willem, then Hannibal comes asking for help. I decline, let these guys slug it out for a while. Maybe later we can backstab Willem. I see poor Hannibal has no elephants, but he has nothing to give in return so we won’t give it to him.

We may need to found a city near the horses.
There is barb city down south. I sent our trireme to investigate. Jewish missionary spreads the faith in Bombay.

That barb city, Apache is a worthless ice cube. An elephant is on the way to gain some exp.

Madrid spawns a GSc. I stop here after 10 turns, (how many turns do we play anyway?) he can bulb Philosophy or start a GA. Madrid also started on a settler for Horse city. In 2 turns we gain sugar, while Moai (4t) and HE (3t) are nearly finished. Cordoba is very slowly gaining in the culture war with the Dutch.

Guilds in six, nice for the grocers, but we need the horses for Knights. Peace with Asoka ends in 1 turn. We could go after him again, or try and take it to Willem while he is busy with Hannibal. Willem hates our guts anyway.

We have to do something about Willem ASAP. If he manages to vassalize Hannibal also he will soin become too powerful. So I vote for sticking it to the Dutch ASAP !

Tackling the dutch will be hard. They are powerful, have a good teching and all of their border cities are in hills.....

But it will only get worse with time. Time to move our troops north.....
 
At the moment he has two huge stacks near at one of Hannibal's cities (each at least 15-20 units). Mostly trebs, cats and horse archers as far as I can see. We still have most of our stacks in our Indian cities. If we go for Willem then, let's move our units up to Delft and Leiden, finish HE and Moai, and switch to theocracy. We'll need horse city when we finish guilds.

Nice picture of the cultural bomb ... really good way of presenting it :thumbsup:

I think, however, that we should give elephants to Hannibal. He has some happy resources, plus even if he has nothing, it will also help us by helping the enemy of our enemy.

The general should either be used for a great medic, or as an Instructor in the HE city. The GS should be settled in Madrid.

I could play, so this is a got it (EDIT: but not today :p).

We will face problems with Lahore, our culture bombed city. Due to cultural pressure it is likely to flip. We can prevent this with garrison, but we can't afford tieing up units right now.

I've pulled all our units to the north. We have two decent stacks and can attack. I've postponed the settler for now, there is one turn to go on it. But we need units. I fear if we don't strike immediately Hannibal will soon vassalize, leaving us with an annoyed Willem and two vassals right on our border. This is a bill to big to stomach for us I deem.
