First of all, sorry for the big delay. I had some Civ issues that forced me to pass last night uninstalling and reinstalling Civ IV
Anyway, were we go with the show.
Mr Z left me with some turns to rifling with a hefty deficit spending. No need to change that
[greyfox]But that sleepy spy in a already conquered city ......[/greyfox]
But we had some huge issues to resolve, like that humble monty stack ( just the way he likes it: big and outdated ). I decided to put there all our strengths.
But before of we could take the city we got to:
In hind sight i should had revolted to Merc too. Anyway , I set the research on Astro: we really need to be able to trade with someone
Back in the Kipling's Big Game (TM), with the help of a spy revolt:
Good.....
Now with a sizable stack of cuiraseers ( soon to receive some cavs and some drafted rifles ( no more than 3 ). putted my greedy eyes in the aztec cap and shrined city ( and because it was the only horse source of the aztecs ....that would stop that pesky swarms of knights )
And after a 2 turn interval ( another spy revolt... thanks for the pre work, Z ):
That will help
BTW we got 2 GP in our turnset:
Both still unused.
Without their cap and without horses, the ability of fighting back of the Aztecs had gone down badly. I took 2 more cities ( all revolted... no time to lose ):
I debated myself a while about keeping that one. I only kept it because of this:
Not sure if it is a good idea to acept it ASAP. There is still a city that I would like to have in our empire:
Besides releasing a lot of cultural pressure out of our newly adquired possessions, it has gold and FPs, that would seriously help the economy ( that is in shambles, as probably the MM

( I tend to shun city MM during wars ) ). A cav+ cuir raid is perfectly feasible ( we have a spy on site , as in other 2 cities ) so I strongly suggest that we take this city.
Other thing that we should consider is that if Monty vassals to us ( or to Boudi, in this case ) and if Boudi is targetting us ( poor soul

), Boudi will DoW ASAP. So if we vassal Monty, we should be ready to resume warring ( the same applies if we try to finish Monty and get a path into Boudiland , a thing that I avoided for now ). So much for a peaceful game, at least for a while
