DMI XIV - The Code of Junil (FfH)

I hate actually hate taking a side and playing the good guys or bad guys. Neutral forever! I wish the Kuriotates were neutral.

Just adopt OO or Esus. Or adopt RoK or Empyrean as someone Evil. Mind you, some "good guys" in FfH are rather morally ambigious characters.

FYI patch E is going to have a truckload of AI improvements (they've been tested by the community - they're good) so the old "play FfH on a higher difficulty level" logic might not apply anymore.

Any room left?

There are talks about Kael including some AI improvements from modmods, but nothing had been officially confirmed yet.

@Monkeyfinger:

I'll have you gladly, as you're an outstanding FfH player. Welcome aboard!

Oops, I misread. The AI improvements will be part of F, not E, and that's a long way off.

Patch E is out.

I can provide a simple xml file with better AI teching, though, if it concerns you so much.

since it seems like the game is starting up, let me make a request for myself (and probably Meatbuster): since i'm a newb when it comes to FfH, can I ask for an "Idiot's guide to FfH"-type reports, just so i can understand the reasoning behind the strategic and tactical choices, esp on techs and builds. and magic.

and those gates things.

and winning by any other way than conquest.

and . . .

Hey pholk, I actually played through the game myself (on Monarch, the AI sucks but I gifted them cartography via WB), here are a few thoughts on the start of the game.

1. Play on Normal speed. Tech rate is so slow it feels like BtS Epic.
2. Start by building 4-5 warriors in the capital.
3. Get out of Despotism ASAP during/after your second city. The early-game choices are Mysticism for God King (bureaucracy) or Cartography for City-States (less city distance maintenance).
4. Warriors will be fine for a while. After worker techs, you can try for a religion (those require worker techs anyway so no big deal waiting until after worker techs) or beeline a unit with at least 5 attack (ironically, you get one when you research the second tech after the religious tech).
5. Once you have a sizable force (about 3 of said military unit), you can explore dungeons.

The AI sucks because their early research is all wrong.

But patch G is out now (or is it a typo for patch F). So I guess that AI stuff will be for patch H.

Checkin' in.

I'll start the game tomorrow with patch f (just downloaded).

:egypt:

If you don't mind to hire a SG-newb, I'm in.
I'm a long time lurker, and I played a few solo Ffh2 game.

I usually play at prince/monarch level, but mainly because I can't stay focused on micro management in the long run. For some 15/20 turns apiece, I can play well.
I can play almost every day of the week, every week.

also, I'm not an english speaker...
