Everyone who voted they are neither are liars, period. You guys should be more honest with yoursleves. If you mean does the racism or homophobia effect or decisions about things, then I would've voted neither, but in general we all are a little bit.

Unless watching shows on Comedy Central that poke racial issues makes me a rascist, I'm not a rascist. Everybody has a little bit in them, but there's a line that constitutes what's really 'racism' or just state of mind.

That lines should be clarified then, because the accusation is so often made. The accusation itself is meant to inhibit your adversaries ability to respond so instead of playing into that, I generally say that everyone is a little bit then rying to play semantics about what is and isnt racism.

I was not sure how an ex-homophobe would vote so I voted for neather racist nor homophobe.

I agree that a lot of people use the term to further their own intolerance. To me its no different that the disingenious "patriots" who likewise attack people who don't conform to their idea of "patriotism".

I find white women more attractive than black women. Does that make me racist? Well, consider: I find both white and black women to be more attractive than men of any race; am I then a sexist as well?

Besides, the race/ethnicity I find hottest (Hispanic with a large amount of Mesoamerican/American Indian) is one to which I don't belong anyways; I like Latin culture better as well.

By the way, I haven't voted and will not vote because I find it a little too hard for me to determine exactly how I feel.

For example: I think homosexuality is a sin and all, but I have gotten along with every gay person I have ever known. Starting in 3rd grade, until 8th grade, I had a piano teacher come to my house every week for piano lessons. Now my parents were just fine leaving him alone with me, and as a result I never would have associated homosexuality and pedophilia on my own. Somehow, despite my general naivete, I figured out he was gay. But that was never a big deal. Or there was the gay couple across the street from us - great people and all. I even had a stereotypically flaming coworker once - he did drag shows, and later quit to be a flight attendant. But I didn't make that a big deal - to me he was just a weird coworker.

On the other hand, I feel that there is no important inherent difference between whites and blacks. Yet I have, for reasons I have never understood, often been uneasy around some black people. I do my best to fight it, and don't let it affect how I behave - neither do I let it keep me up at nights worried that I am a racist.

I have to admit im a bit racist in someway. So i voted for that. I have alot of friends from different races in Singapore. And i have nothing against them. but i do sterotype or classified ppl who i dont know. I look them thru with some some colours until i know about them.

But i like to argue that even if i prefer walking thru some well-to-do estate than some dark alley in poor neighbourhood. I also have no problem walking in a village oversea. e.g. some tribes or small community.

Neither will i feel comfortable walking in a "red-neck" ahem* district with confederation flag flying around and ppl walking with KKK tatoo on their body.

Im not homophobic thou. i got some gay friends also.

Well I did vote neither because I wasn't thinking at the time. I do have my hatred towards black people because at my school, it's got a lot of black people and they either have one, some or all of these qualities

Look big and tough
Use their strength in action
Have a huge gang
Breakdance and rap to it

Now, how many white people at my school have those qualities? Not as many as the blacks.
Of course ,there's like 2, or 5 blacks who actually follow the rules and do work, or they look like normal students. I have no problem with those. But seriously, I just don't like black people because their own kind has made fools of themselves with rap, breakdancing and acting like thugs. If those rappers never existed, I wouldn't be hating black people for those reasons.

Yes I do call them blacks as I don't know what their home countries are, but all I know is that they have dark skin and some countries I cannot pronunce or spell their names

My opinion on homosexuals: Good for you, now don't try and flirt with me or openly show your homosexuality. I'm not impressed by it and I don't care if you're gay.

As for the whole "subconscious bias" I sincerely believe it doesn't apply to me. I would probably feel safer among rich white kids than poor black people. But I'd also feel safer among rich black people than poor white people. So if I am biased it has more to do with social origin, and it's somewhat justified since statistically speaking the chance of a rich person robbing me with a gun is negligible.

As for homophobia. I find homossexuality to be gross, sexually speaking. But so what? I'm all for letting people marrying their cows if they feel like it. Not that it isn't gross, but it is simply not my business.

Hating peoploe for breakdancing and listening to rap seems a bit exaggerated to me.

BTW those are not quailties inherent to black people. They are qualities of one of the many american culture groups.
99% of the black peope I know don't breakdance, or listen to rap, or act like thugs.

Somehow that is simmilar to my situation. I basicly have no gay friends and few African-American friends or friends of other races (I have befriended a kid from India in High School however). Though I am more on the shy type anyway.

The thing is, I hate black people because they made fools of themselves with rap, breakdancing and acting like big thug types who shoot others who don't agree with them. I don't see a stereotype of a White American going around, starting rap battles and shooting others with a gun when they lose. In other words, I always hear about black gang battles more than whites.

Anyway, due to these stereotypes and them actually following it (some black people at my school push people out of canteen lines or get really big and tough to others), they made me feel unsafe around them and the only type of black person I could trust is one who wears a buisness suit.

Black people made stupid stereotypes and the people at my school follow it. You might have met blacks who don't do all those things, but that's your world. In mine, the black people act like idiots and get away with it ("You just hate me because I'm black" excuse).
