I would not say it has influenced me to hate men. Barely 1/10 real (read: intellectual) feminists are man-haters. I've only encountered a few and rarely as professors (once, in sweden).

No, I only hate men because I am one and thus I know all too well that we are scum.

 And do you honestly think women are even a tiny bit better?

define woman...

How can a man disgust with the men? Then he is disgusting with himself.I recommend a suicide.

It's true! On averge, they are not as horsehockey as we are or at least certainly not as horsehockey as I am.

If I had a wife and 5 kids and Padma Lakshmi had a spare moment, I'd throw it all away.

no to "women should rule", yes to "women should not be denied oppurtunities to rule if they prove themselves capable [just like men]"

"Feminist mode " :
"women should not be denied oppurtunities to rule if they prove themselves capable
That is fine and appear quite convenient until one starts asking a very basic question. To whom women shall prove them selfs as being capable ? And that is the issue you men racist pigs are ignoring. In a men dominated world saying that women shall have equal opportunities than men does not mean ,granting them. The society must move it's way into change if that is to happen.

"Normal mode". Actually the way you propose that a supposed men controlled society must change for it to happen is simply , complaining about everything assuming that is the result of a men controlled society. Ultimately at some things you would be correct , at others you will be tormenting innocence. And since i believe sanity is much more powerful tool of change and much more preferable then i suppose people who really believe in equality should lead the cause , if there is no such thing as equality today.

Can anyone attempt the feminist answer to my normal mode ? It seems there are no feminists in this forum i have to be talking to myself to be assured an intelligent debate on the matter. Apparently i win and convince my opponets of their wrong views on the subject.

Ecofarm can you play the role of the feminist and answer my "normal mode" reaction to what the feminist said ?

@ scy:

Real feminism has nothing to do with equality. That is a weak, subjective and ultimately impossible goal.

Itis about empowerment. It is about recognizing that we have squandered 1/2 of our brilliant people for 100s of years through descrimination and prejudice. It is about bringing that sector of our society into full participation in our future for the good of us all, not for the good of women.

 Speak for yourself. Men and women tend towards slightly different sins and different ways of screwing up their lives, but neither on the whole is superior. In fact, the idea that women are better than men strikes me as rather hilarious. (How many women have you actually met?! :crazyeye: ) But suit yourself.

If you want to think of yourself as an inferior, then fine. I'm sure your feminist comrades love having an obedient puppy dog to lift heavy objects for them. Have fun with that.

I am not talking about equaling the sexes , when they are different , but equality of opportunity when one of the two sexes is not naturally superior in the field on average.

True. But like i said often the antithesis of this discrimination is presented to be as stereotypes than lead to bad behavior and bad conclusions. I am certainly not obliged to be criticized not for my life choices but for the fact that i am a man. ncidentally , have you seen Sex and the city ?

Yea, yea, sure...

Do you not know who Padma is or has your woman cut your balls off?

gf liked it. I saw it 3-4 times and it only made me laugh about twice, so never bothered again. Maybe it was because all I could think about was turning that sophisticated brunette into a dirty hippy.

I know who she is. And somehow, I don't think I'm the one person in this conversation who's been castrated.

Dude , you saw Sex and the city 4 times ?Ten more years of this and you may become both just girl friends...:p
Jokes aside , too much of feminism can lead you to no good. Being supporting of women is not a negative. But being a bit too pationate about it , i don't know , i don't see it as the most healthy thing.

That's where you are wrong. Too much feminism leads to lesbians and they are like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. You go hang with the dudes... I'll be over here with a dozen bi-sexual chicks who distain authoritarianism and like to let it all hang out.

Everyone is a tool, some of us are smart about it. Give me a break, I'm a white male - there's not many token jobs I could get.

As other people have surely pointed out, there are two senses of feminism. I'm a feminist in the "equality" sense, but not in the "MEN ARE ALL HORRIBLE OPPRESSORS GAAAAAAAAAAA!" sense.

Actually the second sense are the feminist group who discouraged me of liking feminism. Now, I find that feminists are only leftovers from the eighties, not only wanting to spend their husbands' money in the malls, but wanting the men to carry their bags on the way.

That is, they want to make a reverse 1800s situation, which i do not like.
