Well firstly I think values of beauty can be quite oppressive and cause a lot of suffering, but as for the others.... we're more than happy to praise them and give them a little pat on the head, but we don't exactly appoint people president for having those qualities, do we?

we?

And the jobs that emphasise these qualities aren't the sought-after and highly-paid ones, are they?

non sequitor. Jobs emphasize non gender specific qulities like team players and hard workers.

The old example of homemaking and child-care being devalued to the point of being unpaid and frequently considered "not work" is quite illustrative. If it's "womens work" resting on those sorts of qualities, chances are it's low-paid and low-prestige.

Lots of dirty work (read mens work) is low pay and low prestige too.

I think its time to give up the "female qualities are considered bad" argument.

The "female quality" of weakness is probably the one you were thinking, but too afraid to write. And nobody likes weakness, but its not a female quality, men just use it as an insult to encourage other men to be stronger.

I also made war using Lego (though I prefered medieval knights). And I played Civilization using Leg and I played Sims too using Lego (quite a feat considering it was back around 1995).
/shrug

perhaps struggle and competition is innate in both sexes, and only suppressed in the females... hence you get blow the top off angry feminists.

This is actually what a quite number of feminists think and decry. Feminists believe that female children are not taught enough to help them solve the problems that inevitably arise due to their human nature. The pointed case often being the difference between male and female violence, where women behave quite worse than men in conflict- as feminist say: becase they never were properly socialized to handle it.

Male--not a feminist

lol, there are more monkeys than girls here.

No, I don't think you understand. That last option is just a joke option, there aren't literally monkeys voting in polls on CFC.

OP, you did the poll wrong. You're supposed to make the results public. ;)

Who says they have not? How can yo know?
If they've been saying that, then they've been whispering instead of shouting.

I'm still not seeing any real, substantial point....What exactly are you trying to say here?

Really? What was the last time you seen a feminist discourse?
Not just some sort of statement of that or this?

Or taken to mena you. How much louder? What does mean louder?

I disagree. I could give names, but I would get in trouble.

How do you know that there are no monkeys surfing CFC when studies have shown that monkeys can use a monkey-adapted computer? Your philosophy is bad!!! Stop using Wikipedia as a reliable source on philosophy!!!!

PS: You got paid with your own money

I read feminist blogs and articles pretty regularly, actually. Probably more feminist blogs than conservative or Christian put together. So quite a bit, actually.

Ah, sorry if You feel I assumed something wrong about You, though I guess I did . I meant more in general space. Maybefeminism 101 has something to asnwer your request.

Though that does not change the rest of my questions. Plus I will add another question, how much do "good" feminists need to apologize for actions of "evil" feminists in relation to the rest of their production?

Can I be a feminist and still beat my wife? :mischief:

Seriously, I'm about the least gender-prejudiced person I know - the only way I could be less so is if I was 50-50 bisexual. Whether I'm feminist or not depends on the person applying the label, so I don't put much stock in it. Can one be masculinist, homosexualist, blackist or Christianist?
