Little poll about your ancestors :king: And with 'noble' i mean those who got real titles, not just some rich merchant or sth ;)

If u don't know for sure, than just choose no ;)

And plz, tell us, if there's really some great deeds your ancestors have done :)

Yes, very distant, though, several generations back, besides which the titles would go to someone else because not only am I not the oldest child of the family, but also the connection is from a female member of their family a few generations back, plus commoners have intermixed several times... for which I'm glad, I wouldn't want to be a snobbish noble, Upper Middle Class suits me just fine. :)

My grandfather's family was petty nobility in what is today Lithuania, although it was then part of Poland.

In fact, I believe that the international airport that serves Vilnius is located on my ancestoral estate.

Erm, not at all. :) On the opposite one of my ancestor was the leader of a rebellion here (a small one in a small state), but nevertheless :) He got beheaded, but is quite unimportant. So to say, no I have no noble ancestors, but just a farming rebel :)

mfG mitsho

Nope. My ancestors were poor Eastern European migrants or indentured servants from Britain.

Yes, my family decends from the Dukes of Norfolk. One of the old dukies was a bit friedly, and had an illegitimate child, and that's my family.

Yeah, I've got a very far far far far away acenstors, that are the Dukes of Normandy:D, really.Actually a name of one of hte 1sts Dukes of Normandy name is Rolo
So I must be a very far far far far away cousin of the kings of England, aren't they?

We traced our family back to a crazy (but minor nobel) of England, who explored some islands in north Canada, and his son who did some exploring in the southern Indian Ocean, actually one of the first Europeans to visit the interior of Madagascar I think.

My other side was from a poor Polish family...

Not as far as I know.

However, my mother was a cousin of the composer Gustav Mahler.

The poet Sarah Teasdale was my father's third cousin, but no, I have no noble blood as far as I know.

yes- minor English (read Norman), and Scottish on my Moms side (my grandfather the egnlishman, my grandmother the Scot) nobility- I dotn knwo how major or minor the scottish part is, as its a damn difficult name to remember, so i never remember it when I have the oppertunity to reserch it.

Cant say on my dads side- the old prefix of "Mil" seems to indicate some position within the Roman military at some point though, and him doing well enough to get a new *blank* nomen tacked onto his name

Maybe we're related? Distant Scot noble descendants unite! :p

Rob Roy MacGregor through my maternal Grandmother (hmm... maybe he wasn't so noble ;) ) and the inventors of the chocolate covered macadamia nut: my paternal grandparents. Yum! They weren't nobles, but the candy is fit for kings and such. :D
