The options:

1) Do you like to put three piece suit and tie? An evening gown? A tuxedo? Woman's business suits? Do you like cufflinks? AKA Business attire or formal attire.

2)
Or... do you prefer the nearly-semi-formal? sport-coat, slacks and tie? suit and no tie? woman's equivelent?

3) or how about slick-casual or Business Casual? fancy track suits but only at the gym? sport coat and jeans? sweaters and turtlenecks. Loafers and khakis and colored, collared shirts?

4) "Cool and nice"? Dance club attire? still in style, fitting shirts, fitting pants, etc. Nothing trashy, nothing upscale. pseudo-Dress shirts included if they are the only possible dressed up element.

5) Like, nothing absolutely trashy but nothing particularly nice, and probably a little out of style or not well fitting, etc.

6) Lousy attire. ripped, torn, out of date and NOT retro, faded, maybe no washed, or equally attrocious.

7) Counterculturally, but not in the "i dress bad so I pretend I'm a rebel to make up for it" sense. Has to be like "I wear raver beads and mickey mouse gloves all the time" or "I'm even a Furry by day" (you don't want to know) or "I am only seen in my Blackbeard's Final Battle reenactment attire"

Well, again, I'll state that I like it when other people are underdressed compared to me.

I know that statement will get jumped on, so I'll say that y'all know what I mean and leave it at that.

I believe you said it more eloquently the first time, saying at a fancy event, you'd like to outdress the rest :)

Although I do like your new version, but I'll leave it to the first "Gets it but doesn't get it" person to explain the accidental joke ;)

Alot of my life I've been told that alot of what you do is based upon how you look...

I hate this idea and believe that a person, no matter what their appearance (clothing, etc.) should be judged on their manner and personallity.

Though on manners, Im an ass... But ya dont gotta judge me for it.

I dont care what I wear or how I look much of the time, but I wont go out looking like a total idiot. its commonsense.

oops, I slipped, wanted to vote for 4 but got 5

Why isn't it possible to vote for more than one option? I'm as comfortable in a suit as I am being naked, as long as it fits the occasion.

I like to wear athletic shorts and a t-shirt at home, but going out, I'll wear jeans and a polo.

I dress bad cause its the most comfortable way to dress. I have a 10 year old, really long trench coat that I wear (have one in leather also, but that one weights half a ton), it has buttons missing everywhere. I wear it most of the winter/autumn.

If it gets really cold, then I wear my 10 year old winter jacket. Its made out of green military tent canvas. It will survive the human race, its so rugged.

They are comfy as hell, and they cost me nothing to wear, where as buying new stuff I dont need would. Its not that Im a cheapo, I just hate wasting money on dumb, unnecessary stuff, like new clothes.

Being of the goth/metal persuasion dressing up for me means wearing bondage trousers and lots of spikes.

I've quite happy with anything from 1-3. (voted 2). This doesn't mean that I dress up every day though...I still often wear t-shirts to class or to work out and whatnot

I....hate....ties. I am known as the guy who refuses to wear one. I always thought they looked tacky and stupid, but that's just me I guess.

I do like to look nice wherever I go...I won't wear a suit to Wal-Mart, but I will find the nicest thing I got. Got to look sharp in public.

I hate dressing up!
Have to wear a suit and tie sometimes professionally, but by preference black jeans and a T-shirt or sweatshirt... also mostly black. And if I go rock dancing it's a metal shirt.. also black, of course! :D
Guess I just like black, for some reason... ;)

What is the situation? Or is the situation irrelevant? If the situation is irrelevant, why isn't "no dress" an option?

I hate wearing a tuxedo - but that is because when I am wearing a tuxedo, it means that I am working on site, doing something I have no clue how to do. As my company provides staff for banquets, and send the office people in if they are short, it means I am being a banquet server.

5. Metal band shirts, worn, comfy denim and boots depending on the season (leather biker's boots and winter hiking boots)

The only good use of a tie is to hang yourself when you come to the sad realization that you have a piece of fabric hanging from your neck, whos only purpose is to hide the buttons on your dress shirt.
