After just browsing the boards for a few weeks and looking at the responses most new users have got here, I definately do not think that we are all that welcome here. Am I wrong??
Am I right?? What is your opinion?

I felt welcomed. I didn't come to OT immediately, but when I did cross over, it felt like a very open and understanding enviroment, where anyone's views could be listened to.

Well, it's better than some places ;)

No "OMFG n00b STFU LOL!!!11!!11111!!!"

Well you have 3 posts, so I wouldn't get discouraged if I were you.

Post counts mean little at CFC; its the ability to spew rhetoric that gets attention.

I beg your pardon cgannon64 but with 6692 posts, I would hardly classify you as a new user. On the other hand maybe that is how you felt whan you had just 4 posts?

Just as an afterthought. I am looking for responses from people who have less than fifty (50) posts. If you have more than that, I dont think the term "new user" has much meaning.

I had 0 posts about a year ago, so I know how it feels. :)

I still recall my 1st post, in the history forum. It had pretty good response.

In general, I felt welcomed here at CFC since day one. People are usually friendly, and I found an unusual amount of intelligent responses here.

Great forum, this one, specially the OT.

We like our newbies to be non-obnoxius/annoying, that's why I was hated as a newbie. When a newbie posts something that has been done to death or doesn't read the forum rules is generally when we get mean.

P.S. Watch out for Simon Darkshade, he befouls our newbies

I've been in Off-Topic for about a week, and though I haven't 'made friends' yet, I would definately say that it's a mature and open environment, based on the threads I've seen.

You only really start to earn their respect once you one-up an oldie. So find a not-so-bright oldie, engage him in debate on something or other, and zing him. ;) Then the community will be very welcoming. It's a sort of initiation ritual :p

Also, watch out for Simon. You can tell who he is because he sees you're a newbie, he, well, er... :ack:

Ya, Newfangle has been pissing people off since day one.

Can I just say welcome to CFC. Although I have more than 50 posts I am still a newbie. I hope you enjoy posting here and would say that it is not whether you are new but what you say that is most important. :)

When i was here spamming for my new civ3 ptw clan(back in october last year) i was treated nicely some didn't like the idea of a clan, but they didn't go bashing me(if i recall cgannon64 signed up for it but soon left). but when i came back in may or something with 8 posts i was treated decently. The trick is to use your wit to get yourself out of situations that make you look like a moron, and never side with the enemy on a topic and you might just survive

Most are unless they act like a fool like the racism guy. One thing that makes me mad at newbies are when they post I am new here threads.

Moved to Site Feedback... ;)

On-topic, we mods try to make everyone as welcomed as possible. If anyone is specifically creating problems for you, pls approach one of us. ;)

Generally, just starting posting and you'll get going. ;)

Although i registered here quite afew months ago, i only post occansionally (24 posts in 5 months, go me!) so i am still reletively new here. No-one went out of there way to welcome me as such, but i had no abuse slinged at me, so i dont feel unwelcome.

New posters get a much easier time here than many places on the net.

lol, many people here registered months after me, yet have 10times more posts!

Welcome to CFC Amonaobse:)

CFC is more welcoming and less elitist than almost any other forum on the net that I've seen. If you feel unwelcome here, I shudder to think how you would feel elsewhere.

Welcome Amonaobse

I first came to this site in Feb this year. My first posts were in General discusions in the newbie section. I wanted to know about corruption and the FP. I got a lot of help from people which really surprised me but I was pretty thankful for it.
Most people are really friendly around here and if you have a valid point or topic you will find it will generate interest.

For the first couple of months nobody would reply to anything that I posted , and I thought it was a noobie snub but it was just that peole weren't interested in the topic presented, try not to take it personly. It happens to everyone.

Some things that I have learn't that will help you stay out of trouble...

1) The ai DOESN"T ever cheat.
2) Spearmen are NOT more powerful than tanks.
3) If you have a really good idea for a new thread, check back to see if it has been done reccently, ie threads about age, location, sex, username, mothers maiden name etc. Or you can just post it anyway and people will let you know ;)
4) Greater post count doesn't make you more of an expert than someone else, it just means that you have more time to post or are willing to post than others.
