~ I smoke cigarettes, about 5-10 a day, but I'm due to give up in about a year's time when I hit my 30th birthday. Specifically, I smoke roll-ups, from rolling tobacco (Golden Virginia). I have a dislike for the taste, smell and contents of ready made 'straights'. And it really pisses me off when: (a) Smokers of ready-mades, upon seeing me rolling up, say "would you like a proper cigarette?" I think and often say: "Yes, I would. That's why I'm smoking tobacco, not some filthy chemical and wood chip infested, fiber glass tipped piece of crap!" (b)

I'm going to quote this, for truth. I cannot stand standard cigarettes, but there is something especially good with roll up's (especially if you had a flatmate who would roll it up in advance of you arriving home from work :p ). Golden Virginia is lovely stuff too, it's what he used. :goodjob:

No. Marijuana is the work of the devil.

but i dont recall the devil creating the herbs of the earth...

pretty sure that was god.

It was a deliberately ironic comment made in the hope to provoke:goodjob:

Ironic, because... ???

I do not smoke, and I will not endure anyone that does. The practice is increasingly going out of favor as the era progresses, thank God. Those that remain in the habit are... a dying breed.

Genesis 1:12

KJV. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

CEV. The earth produced all kinds of vegetation. God looked at what he had done, and it was good.

I smoke between 15 and 30 cigarettes a day and usually smoke 1-3 grams of marijuana a day, usually in a bong or a pipe. Been smoking cigarettes since I was 14, so I'm coming up on 5 years of that habit. Started smoking pot at 17.

Salvia I did once and it pretty much just confused the **** out of me for a few minutes. There's a reason the stuff is legal, it's not an especially enjoyable recreational drug. LSD and mushrooms are much more satisfying hallucinogenics, IMHO.

The negative effects of drugs have been consistently overplayed by the government. Nearly all drug laws are rooted in racism, and I personally believe (based on my experience) that alcohol is a harder drug with worse side effects than marijuana, psychoactive mushrooms, or LSD.

Non-smokers and strictly "straight-edge" people are confusing to me, and I have a hard time viewing them as anything but uninformed, unexperienced, and I really get tired of people talking down to me because of my lifestyle decisions. Personally, I don't necessarily want to live the ten years between 80 and 90; I'd rather have fun in my first thirty. I attend a private four-year university, work full-time, and have my own apartment, so I'd say I'm as successful as most other eighteen-year-old's.

Just remember: God mad marijuana just as much as he made you. :)

No, and never will. The thought never entered my end to start, I've had too many of my own family members afflicted with the crap.

Utter useless trash on the body, IMHO. Plus, you save money by not smoking.

I don't smoke, never did.

A female friend of mine quit smoking a cuple of yers bak, the thing she misses most is lighting up and blowing smoke in the face of people she dislikes.

I have an addictive personality (as my presence on a Civ site can attest to ;)) and weak teeth, both of which suggest smoking is not a great idea. Plus I hate the smell of cigarettes (marijuana is less obnoxious) because my mum used to smoke in the front of the car when I was younger (something she can't stop apologising for).

Oh for crying out loud, Marijuana compared to alcahol and cigarettes, have you seen the numbers of deaths invovled in these drugs?

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-1736243,00.html

5600 per year in England due to alcahol.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4003969.stm

86,500 in England per year due to smoking.

http://www.medicalmarijuanaprocon.org/pop/deathreports.htm

Marijuana: secondarily attributable in the last 12 years in the US: 279

The hypocrisy is laughable.

What's the difference between legal and illegal? Idiots who believe that somehow legal makes it better..

I smoked two packs of cigarettes a day, for thirteen years. At the same time, I also used to smoke a pipe (because I liked the smell of pipe tobacco), and went through about $60 of pot about every two weeks. I haven't touched any of it for just over ten years now, and I'm much healthier for it (even if I did pack on about 60 pounds or so).

Smoking and drinking both corrode the body and mind.

Only the weak of character partake in those activities.
