Do you type with 10 fingers?

I type using 2 fingers, and glance at the keyboard too. :blush:

Never learned to type well. We have plenty of pretty secretaries here. :p

But seriously...
I have to say I only use three or four fingers. I know it's not the best method but that's how I learned and that's my fastest way to type now that I'm used to it.
 
This is me typeing while watching Tv. See I'm typing typing typing and typing with hopefully no mistakes, cept for the occasionaly grammatical error, which is to be expected cause I rarly passed any grammar tests. Wow I did it with almost no mistakes.
 
All ten. I look at the screen not the keyboard but I can look at neither if I so choose.

I use my pinkys the least often, only ocassionly for the delete & return key (right one) & the shift key (left one).
 
Not quite sure... so used to typing that I don't notice it at all. I think usually with 2-4 fingers...
 
I use to be a faster typer when I played Warcraft II with my friends in elementary and junior high. Now that I am going into University, I ain't so good.

I type with all ten fingers by the way.
 
Yes, I type with all 10 fingers, and I can type without looking at the keyboard. By the way, I type at a moderate 40 words per minute.

I actually I can somewhat type better than what I posted (70) now however I was trying to be "safe" be putting a non-risky number. ;)

I think that if you can get 55-60 words a minute that is still pretty good though. In the first high school computer class I took the requirement was only around 20-25 GWAM.

I should not have said or typed that I use all ten fingers on the home keys rather I use eight fingers and leave the thumbs on the spacebar. I use my right thumb for pressing the space bar. Left thumb is reserved for occasional pressing of space bar (when right hand is busy) and for computer programs in which you must press numerous keys inconjuction.
 
By the way, does anyone know of an online website that would be able to measure typing speed? Mostly through internet chatrooms I've gotten my typing speed up pretty well over the last decade but it'd be nice to have a number instead of "I type pretty quickly" - and yeah, I use nine outta ten fingers, for some reason my left pinky doesn't have much to do.
 
2 and half fingers with thumb for space bar, looking at the keyboard most of the time, mediumish speed (but probably slow compared to all you lot).
 
I type with 9 fingers without having to look. The left thumb proofreads ;)

I would choose the 'expert' option, as those are longer sentences, so it would be a little more accurate, since the test seems to include the time it takes you to get your hands on the keyboard (after clicking 'start test' with your hand on the mouse), and also the time it takes you to take your hands off the keyboard to grab the mouse and click 'finish'.

So, the real number should be higher than what is posted there, how much higher depends on how fast you can switch between using the mouse and typing on the keyboard.

Out of 3 tests on expert, the fastest test said I had 49 words/minute, so I would probably say 55-60. I had some typos (which I corrected), so that cost me some time.
 
I type with 8 fingers and no thumbs. I miss the space bar if I use a thumb!
