UPDATE TWENTY FIVE
Wrath from the seas
A rogue wizard in
Arshnoc blasts a laboratory, killing many other wizards in the process.
In T'ien Chi, Arshnoc brings soldiers who build trebuchets to tear down Lankan defenses. Many wizards rebel against Arshnoc, and side with Lanka, but Arshnoc troops are more numerous, better equipped, and benefit from the help of several Shinuyaman trolls. Lankans are forced to evaduate the province, their ships ready to bring back their troops to their home island.
In the
Abysia province of Marignon, the council held in Catalonia has finally ended. Yllena has managed to convince the whole council about the truth of Blood Magic. Inquisitor Guissepe el Migo was so convinced of Yllena's words that he tore his robes and made a bloody scar on his chest with a sharp knife indicating his commitment to a new faith. Marignon's priest leaders have finally accepted the assimilation to the Abysian faith which they stated on the new Marignonian Constitution.
Abysians organised an election in the province, with each inhabitant having a right to express their choice for a governor. Angelique d'Armont came first in the provinces of Catalonia, Madrigal, Barcelona and Cadicia, thereby winning the election ahead of the former Inquisitor Tomaso del Monteferrada. Angelique was a young girl at the time of the war between Marignon and Abysia, and she fought against the invaders, but she long since renounced war. Now her pure faith led many to ask her to represent their country and guide them in this new era. Celebrations were held in all Marignon after the elections.
In C'tis, the rumors of the death lich Slaash returning from the death has sparked much unease. So far the War Minister Fiera has yet to find if the basis for this rumors are true or not.
As
Mictlan priests explain that the only way to reach the Mantis is to leave one's body forever behind oneself, Abysians convince their priestess Selena ro renounce talking to the Mantis. She isn't certain whether it is absolutely necessary for her to die to meet the goddess, or whether Mictlanese priests don't trust others to talk directly to their goddess. Most priests understand that allowing anybody to talk directly to the god without their intermediary would probably weaken the social order and holy role of the church.
In
Vanheim, the dwarves are getting more and more unreliable. Many of them talk nonsense even more nonsensical than humans and vanir were used to hear. They keep rambling "F'taghn", "Azatoth" and other such meaningless words.
In Ulm,
Ermor wizards reanimate dead sailors from the Sunken lands sea, but they don't awaken only dead men. As corpses emerge from the waves on their ghost ship, other things emerge from the seas:
Shamblers, enslaved mad mermen, lobotomised atlanteans, rush from the waters and invade Uim. The same monsters emerge from the seas and attack the
Jotunheim province of Agartha, driving the giants from their land. Those who survive the sea monsters slowly lose their minds.
In Kymriu,
Ermor undead start killing the population, which flees south to seek refuge in Mictlan lands.
South of
Mictlan, the Machaka population is frightened. Although they haven't been invaded by anyone, many report seeing strange silhouettes at night. Some say there are many more will-o-wisps in the marshes, and that the jungle is less and less secure.
B]Shinuyama[/B] troops in Eriu invade Tir na n'Og. Their strength is such that they walk over Mictlan defenses easily, their many demons equipped with magical swords and armors cutting through
Mictlan militia with ease.
Two of the Queens of Elemental Waters, along with Shinuyaman navy, patrol around Eriu island, warding off any ships trying to land or evacuate. All Mictlanese ships regroup in Central Ocean and move north into Fomorian sea to try to get rid of the Shinuyaman navy.
The battle is fierce. Mictlanese ships are sturdier, and have a small advantage in numbers, but Shinuyama makes up for the lack of quality with the Queens of water, who curb the waves to their will and hinder Mictlanese maneuvering.
As the ships are boarding each other, and while Shinuyaman Queens wreck galleon after galleon, suddenly Bathusma, Queen of the Deep, screams in terror and sinks. Soon, Thalassa, Queen of the Seas, follows suit. The tide of battle turns. Mictlanese ships gain an advantage, and manage to sink several quinquiremes. The remnant of Shinuyaman ships disengages, and Mictlan galleons regroup and anchor themselves in order to plug holes and heal their wounded.
Then,
something emerges from the waters. Squid like beings, or beings with a head like a squid, show up all around the ships, and start flaying their tentacles towards the sailors. The Mictlanese fall, one after the other, their minds burnt by the marine monsters.
