Donal Lugh recruit ability bug?

I am playing FFH 032l as Bannor. I have build Donal Lugh and recruited some units with hist ability. Every time Donal receives level there is possibility to add
recruiter promotion to him, while entry in civilopedia says, that this ability should be regained only after undead or demon killing. Surely, either civilopedia
entry or game mechanics there is wrong, I wonder, which of them?

It's a bug, Donal Lugh isn't supposed to be able to get Recruiter from leveling. Probably easy to fix, just make the tech requirement for the promotion Recruiter TECH_NEVER so it isn't possible to take the promotion on leveling.

I find that if I use world builder to edit techs known OR unit XP then I often get some wierd promotion options such as withered, hasted and stoneskin.

I have also had a quirky time with a flesh golem (in a completely unedited game) that started with 3/2 XP, no Golem promotion, and Golem as the only selectable promotion. (I tried to get him to pickup another racial promotion instead, but even without the racial promotion Golem a flesh golem can't become a dragon.)

I can't understand why the game now allows a unit to upgrade to any promotion it starts with. I made Brigit and Seraphim start with Crown of Brillance, and they can get that back too.


Was this Flesh Golem an Illusion, perchance? I can't think of a reason for it not to have Golem except if summoned by a unit with Illusionist or Puppeteer. The python code does preclude racial promotions from being added.

Ah, yes, that explains both the lack of a golem promotion. I used Gibbon Goetia to summon the golem. Taking the Golem promotion replaced illusion.

Your ability to select random wierd promotions after gaining Techs through the WorldBuilder is due to granting yourself the tech: NEVER (which happens if you use the Era Techs option as well). Many promotions which are effects require NEVER so that you cannot buy them when you level up.
