I feel the main reason now for opposing the exodus is quite clearly outlined by Luckymoose

I don't feel that the Frontier is a community in which we will ever be respected.

That's a lie and you know it.

One disagreement with a guy long established as a NES Hardcore Disagreeable has you painting the community I've been part of for 12 years with the brush of intolerance. You're also quite free with that righteous paintbrush, chuckles. As one of the people who is trying to make everyone feel at home despite walking in my door one day to find myself outnumbered by refugees measuring my windows for curtains, I can't help but wonder if this is some sort of power play. Oddly enough, there's no power to be had, but methinks you're trying anyway. So... where's my apology?

ur relly selling the forum, but i think il give it a mis thx

As you know there is a lot of tension right now on CFC regarding the NES forum and its community, with a significant number of CFC posters joining your site and playing games there. I personally think that it is great that NESsing and IOT are spreading beyond CFC's borders and while there have been several attempts at expanding before it looks like this time it might actually work.

I do not think that the two sites need to have an adversarial nature to each other. Many of the players, as far as I can tell, intend to maintain profiles and play games on both sites. For this reason I'd like to ask everyone to not engage in any cross site back and forth. You don't like something that someone said on the Frontier? Talk about it over there. I'd hope that you'd keep things said on CFC over here as well. There is no need for sniping over the borders or trying to score "points" in whatever personal issues you have with other posters or things said outside of CFC.

I will also note that the above post could quite easily be construed as trolling/flaming. It looks like it has been a while since you have posted here on CFC, so I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt, but in the future I'd encourage you to be a little less antagonistic. There are many ways to get your point across without attacking or insulting someone or trying to draw them into a heated argument.

For the benefit of everyone else, and so that I can make myself perfectly clear:

Moderator Action: Please cease with the cross-site back and forth. If someone says something you disagree with on the Frontier, discuss it over there.

Nope its the truth. I do not feel comfortable in a place where I know a guy will constantly insult me. As far as I'm aware that is a legitimate reason for not staying there.

I'm not sure what sort of apology you want.
Sorry that Luckymoose seems to dislike me?

It's the part of one fellow newcomer making the whole site feeling unwelcome.

I personally like many of the Frontier's people, and feel welcome in general.

HOW.

Well yes they are all nice, but it just goes to show that one person can ruin the whole thing for me by attacking me and making me feel bad.

I'm sure that they are nice people and that I'll go back but for the moment Luckymoose has ruined the experience for me by attacking me and my games at every opportunity. The sort of thing that probably wouldn't be tolerated at CFC

Ooooookayeee....

...now I'm afraid to ask what happened while I was away :ack:.

In a nutshell: a NESer I'm not familiar with said something that was construed as supporting right-wing terrorism and got called on it hard. Infractions got handed out to some of those doing the calling out, other NESers decided the moderation was heavy handed. In response a chunk of the NESing community started up a new forum (like the taniforum but without being a barely concealed cash grab) and started a thread to discuss PDMA in site feedback. Some IOTers who also NES got involved and the news came here. As the NESers heading off site includes luckymoose and the more rabid IOT haters the perennial discussion about merging the forums sprouted up again.

For full details go back about 8-10 pages in the locked WWW thread in NES and then you can kind of follow it here, the new WWW thread and a couple of threads in Site Feedback.

On a different note since I have my phone or a couple days and I'm bored, ask someone who just completed army basic combat training anything

How many Russians have you killed?

What did you name your rifle?

Priscilla.

I know you have Sasha too; what other names did you assign your firearms? When I was doing that Mosher dynasty game I named all the males some variant of Zachary and all the females Priscilla or Sasha.

What did you name your rifle?
Like mech said, I named the m16 issued to me Priscilla. My mosin at home is Sasha, my Nagant revolver is Zoya, and my ak-74 is Lydia.
How many Russians have you killed?
Forty eight
What do you do next?
I'm a holdover in Ft. Jackson for the time being, doing nothing but pt twice a day. Within a week or two I'll be moving on to Goodfellow Airforce Base for advanced training.

Why did you join the army in the first place? Do you want to see the world? Do you want to serve your country? Or did you just think it would be fun?

I enlisted for a lot of reasons. Primarily, the area where I live in Maine is a deadend without any real job opportunities - the only industries that really even sort of thrive around here are the automotive, fishing, and drug trade industries, none of which I'm interested in. The army offers steady and decent pay and amazing benefits along with great working conditions, and trains me in a trade (and provides the funds for me to learn another one, all the way to a masters degree in as many areas as you can take classes in).

Another big aspect of it really is wanting to improve who I am physically and morally. The army heavily stresses living by a set of values and instilled a lot of good work ethic, alongside shaping you into a physically fit human being, something I really needed. So far, the army has done a lot towards instillinf healthy habits fr
Hygiene to home maintenance to physical traaining.

I also really want to make my mum proud and show up
My waste of space of a sister and the army is sending me down a good route in that aspect.

Seeing the world and serving my country are also reasons I joined, but they're more secondary; serving my country is more about paying back my debt to te us government for all its done for me than blind patriotism.

My bad for poor spelling and formatting, I'm
On my slow as hell phone
