Double Your Pleasure

Hmm... On witch page could i find some pics? I already checked pages 140-154

EDIT: Sorry, i'm just stupid here... I'll check mod creators website. :D

@LouLong:

What version of the mod have you got installed? I can't find any problem with the Summer Palace in the latest version (1.50x)

If you have 1.50x, and you used the patch from 1.05x to 1.50x when you installed that, make sure you also had the previous patches installed (that is, up to version 1.05x).

Ah, maybe I did not use all the different patches. But in any case it was not the Summer Palace but Summer gardens. I just renamed a copy of summer palace pedia picture.

Sorry, typo :) I checked the Summer Gardens, not the Summer Palace. Copying the file may fix this problem, but if you have 'gaps' in the patch list, I'm afraid more problems are going to show up, so I'd recommend a reinstall. If you started the game under 1.50x, you can continue the game after a mod reinstall without problems.

Their were a few problems with the palace gardens a couple of patches back or so. So if you check and ensure you have all the current patches installed that should solve the problem.

As Isak says if you have missed a patch - that can cause problems. Normally a new patch will not contain the updates of all the previous patches - the exception usally being the final release - when a normal interim update and a full update will be released. The forum notes will explain the differences when that happens. :)

I have been using my new computer for a week now and I must say I love DELL gaming systems.

I made some mods to the huge world map and renamed it 4000BC!

-Resources never end
-Each Tribe has its own color
-Whales are reachable
-Suez canal can pass through
-No Americans
-No goody huts

Enjoy!

Ok first of all, love the mod.

With a mod this good you just have to play on large maps with lots of civs but of course this leads to a very slow game once all the empires have done some serious expanding. By removing a couple of small civs it speeds up the game a fair bit but this only delays the innevitable :(.

Clearly the solution is not to stop trying to play giant maps, but rather upgrade to an Earth Simulator clone. So here is the question, has anyone played on these huge maps with very little late game slow down? Because I don't want to upgrade only to find that the game slow down is just delayed a few more hundred years. So I wanna know the specs of anyones computer whos only problem with huge map late games is that they can't make dvd rips at the same time :).

Here's a question about the new techs:
I have included the Su-27 Flanker into the DyP MOD, which tech should it be with? I am thinking guided weapons or advanced tactics...but then what would my F-16, F-14, F-15 and F/A-18 go with?

They all pretty much came out around the same time. . . why not make them 'flavor' units? That might work out.

I tried downloading it but the site iss too slow and it is too large. Is there anyplace else I can get it and can I get it in smaller chunks? When I do try it seems to just stop at about 1.5 megs. Also is there a less-graphics verion that only has a few for units and buildings? 30 megs seems alot to me. You should also put the bic/bix seperately for people who just want that.

The bix/bic file won't work without the units and pedia icons on your machine, since that file references the files that are included in the install.

Have you tried a download manager? Something that will pause the d/l and resume it at a later date. and where are you d/ling it from? I had to d/l it after the last release from fileplanet.com, and it worked pretty good from there.

Well with minimal animation I could adjust it to work. It won't look as good but I don't mind. Can you tell me the URL at fileplanet.com? I couldn't search it there.

Click here. If you don't already have a subscription to it, you can sign up for a free one. And according to this, it's 63.8mb. This is the full version, not the update.

Oh, and I did a search on Double Your Pleasure, not DyP. . .

Since I see many people interested in the industrial and modern phase of the game but not able to reach it, here is a SAVE that provides just that.

- Date : 1420 so plenty of time to reach the more modern eras.
- player : Celts
- AI (more to less powerful) : Siam, Polynesia, Sioux, Egypt, India, Korea, Carthage, France, Incas, Rome, Ottomans, Persia, Germany, Ethiopia
- situation : WW against Siam, Polynesia, Korea, Ottomans and Egypt, Sioux are neutral, all others are more or less allied with against at least one ennemy.
- tech and game level : rifleman, artillery, cruisers, cavalry (soon motorized transportation). Regent level.
- Geographical situation : random map very large with little water and large continents. Good computer needed. Celts control a large north part of a continent with little threat from some cities in tundra areas (Siam and Ottomans). + some bases on islands, on a "panama canal" on the Egyptian continent + some important bases on the Korea/Polynesia/Siam/India continent.
- History : after a limited war against Germany to get control of sugar and ivory, most wars have been decalred by AI (usually after "leave or war". That enabled the capture of a tobacco town from the Ottomans, a spice town from Korea. But Polynesia and Siam allied with me against Korea that became a second-rank power and I had to declare war agianst Polynesia after a while since they were getting control over all Korea. I reconquered these towns and gave most back to Korea (that turned then furious to me   ). Then at peace with everyone but setting up spies got me in a war with the main powers. Tech, wonder and buidlings lead with a confortable budget surplus but not so big an army so the war is in a challenge. Gave away techs and money to put other countries nearly at the same level to make it balanced.

Its nice that you put that up Loulong, most people dont like playing endless hours to get to theri favorite ages, especially if it is the age of total war like me.

You are welcome.
BTW here is a screenshot (two years later) : oh man, the Siamese simply love their balloons !

It's easy to change the scenario to start in whatever age you like.
