OOC: I've got a question: do our Goggles have an Infrarred Visor? It would be great to work out with it, as it would give us an edge against the enemy. I know that there are many animals that can't be detected by it, but mostly they are not too fast to become a big threat to us.
Just before he set out to search for any other clue, Niki went to talk with Ruben. "Boss, I think that it might be a good idea if we light a bonfire in the outskirts of the mission. Not to warm us, but so that it acts as a beacon.
"My opinion is that, out there, there are two things that would react to the fire. The first are animals, and they tend to run away from fire, save for the rhinoceros, and there aren't any of those around here.
"The other possibility is that humans might be attracted to it. In that case, we can deal with three possibiliities: a) It's a member of the research team, b) It's a native of the zone, or c) It's someone else. If it is a), then we could talk with him or her and see if he can give us any clues. If b), then we can try to talk with him if he isn't hostile or at least provide him with asylum, and if he is hostile then we could either knock him out so that Magus and I can check him out or, if there is no other choice, we should kill him. If c), then it might be a possible ally or an enemy, and we should act accordingly to the level of threat they might have.
"Since all of us can communicate through our radios (OOC: we have small radios that will allow us to communicate with each other, no?), then the two people in the towers could look every few minutes around the fire and warn the guys downstairs that there is someone near the fire, and if blows come to blows the snipers can kill the hostile with a headshot.
"What do you think?"
