Dr. Zeus

it could have been right if he spelled it the old way. Daemon

That makes no sense any way
As it begins with a day

I was merely trying to bring in a bit of what is called eye rhyme,
Which is indeed a valid form of it, as it has been throughout time.

Of this eye rhyme I have heard not
It seems you know of it a lot

Your wikipedia page on that rhyme is neat
And for it you do deserve a piece of meat
Sadly I do not have such food on hand
But if I did it would not be bland

The lack of meat is unfortunate,
But that I guess is my fate,
That on nothing I can season with lime,
Even though I skillfully use eye rhyme.

Here from nowhere comes a pie
But it's baseball flavor is a lie
Thank you though for your nice words
Sorry trexeric for no cooked birds

This is getting really stupid.

I really think this should stop,
Because no one will come out on top,
We're derailing the thread,
(annoying Constantinople to the end)
So stop the rhymes now!

spam is not our friend
it will cause le thread to end
though my name implies
mods will not see eye to eye

Ok sorry. Just passing the time. :D

As Rome's power ended
Began a new era
Though not quite as splendid
From Arabs east of Sahara.

They charged on monsters mounted.
Elephants, camels, and the horse.
But even as the corpses counted
We phalanxes showed no remorse.

The Arabs charge our wall again
Striking with all their force
We rise back up, no deaths in vain
More soldiers reinforce

If they think we'll wither to dust
The Arabs are such fools
We cannot quench our 'spansion lust
We march into Kabul.

How sad the last soldier drops dead, and so falls the City of Peace
The losses high, the resistance low, Hoplites replaced by Bedouins
Yet hope's murdered not, cheer breaks out of those proud children of Greece
The families ne'er will acknowledge their loss, they're still Greece's denizens

They pressed into our lands
To eliminate all things Greco
Their screams and chants and threats
Growing from innocuous echoes

Ex-cities of Rome, envious of Greek might.
Wished to join the nation, such as Neapolis and Pompeii.
But were rejected, in a manor impolite.
"Not a matter of big and small, strong and weak,"
Only those accepted were purebred Greek.

They marched on down
To our copper mines
Prepared to stay the night
But we grabbed their crown
Killed them in these confines.
Now we saw the results of their blight
Left trails of hate, blood, sorrow and despair
Commanding us through the sand dune:
We will destroy all who dare
To fight for the crescent moon

P is for perserverence, we never quit halfway
H is for heroism, we never leave friends behind
A is for adversaries, at our sight, they cower in fear
L is for Larissa, she rhymes with our great spear.
A is for ardor, we love our home, a country better than fine
N is for 'nihilation, our enemies in utter disarray
X is for X-citement, which never ceases to exist

At last the long war ends
People cheer out
The peace bells let out happy, gay chimes
And so begins the process
Of demobilization
But Greece won't be shamed like this next time.
