A break-off of the Sylvan Empire, these sylvan were more adventerous then their fellows. A group of mercenaries, led by Captain Tagon, successfully defended their outpost against an Outsider raiding party. The survivors spread tales of their courage and this rallied a minority party in Sylvan politics, the exerev̱ni̱tí̱s, into leaving their homes and found their own system. A year later they began to terraform the Dar system and their great 'fabber' factories produced a massive number of solar-defense satellites while dozens of ships were dispatched to explore nearby star systems. Within a decade they were comfortable on their new planet, Dar-Kaling, and their stellar defense net was complete. Their taxidió̱ti̱s acheived relative fame for their ability to travel for years before returning to dock and their féroun póli̱ could go indefinitely without support. They mapped out dozens of trade routes for many different nations in their corner of the galaxy and noone ever successfully penetrated its defensive net

@Seon
Ruleset? Well... no. Rules? Yes. =)
I will go deeper into the subject at the end of this post.

@Germanicus
New York?
Well, apart from the name, its really good =D
You R teh Signed up =)

@KyF
Ah! Le sylvans!
Very good indeed =)
You too are now signed up!

@Thomas B.
A flooded planet? Hmm.
Well, the Nikolen are a water species, so you won't have that problem.
Very good =) Signed up you are!

Rules
Okay... Anybody playing my previous NES'es will know that they lacked rules.
It was WAY too much based simply on my decision.
That, will be changed.

Spoiler Turns :

As you might already have read, one week, is one turn.
Every turn you will get income, resources and other things from your various buildings,
you will also need to pay wages to your workers every turn ofcourse, but that's another story.
Every turn you can (among other things) give orders to build various buildings.
Every building has a build time, though most of them will be built on one turn.
You can also order your various spaceships around, do politics, research and do other stuff.
Special event's might also occur, but don't expect one every turn.

Spoiler Valuta :

Ingame, there will be LOTS of diffirent resources to trade. Here's a list of the basics:
EP: EP (Energy Points) are generated from power plants and other stuff like that. Generally it is electricity, but you may call it whatever you wan't. The intergalactical word though, is EP.
Dek: Dek is the intergalactical valuta. There might be other valuta on the diffirent planets, but Dek is the one ýou will probably use to trade with each other.
Travinium: Travinium is the basic metal used to build spaceships and spacestations. 1 Travinium Point = 1 Ton Travinium. Travinium is very common, but is still a very valueable resource.
L.K. Crystals: L.K. (Lumos Kentaro) Crystals are a very precious resource that has many uses. L.K. Crystals can also be used to boost magic.

I'd post more of the rules i have for the game, but i don't have the time =(
I'l see if i can post em later.

I chose New York because we were humans and I wanted a city from Earth, it was my first choice due to the fact that New York City is considered the capital of the World.

If you want me to choose a different, more unique name I can provide one.

I am subscribing and will be Sylvan, I think. I'll put up details after I get done with these final exams and what not.

Lols.

What we really, really need is an Amanin character with their lizardman/droideka goodiness :p

In my opinion we need a outsider.
Butwell... Moar rules coming tomorrow.

Butwell... Moar rules coming tomorrow.

Yes. Outsider intrigued me when I first looked at races, but does being 207% incapable of inflicting harm to anything greater than a cardboard mean

:Strong enough to wear cloths. Those things can weigh a KILOGRAM, you know :p (though i wonder if it's a bonus or not)
:Strong enough to pick up any weapon larger/heavier than a sharp writing utensil.
:Strong enough to strangle another being even if they are infatuated with the outsider in question
:Strong enough to press a button.
:Strong enough to swivel a turret
:Strong enough to... you get my point :p

so is this going to have star-trek science and dnd magic? Star wars science and ffh magic? Spell-Jammer both? Schlock mercenary science, dominions magic?

This game is already starting to feel lot like that game, Twilight of the Arnor :p
...

......

Speaking of which, will there be any NPCs in this game? Will there be uberpowered ones? Will I get reports like

"an unidentified alien spaceship emerged from beyond charted worlds. It seemed to be a scout from its size. It, without attempting any diplomacy, engaged colony X and the 501st Fleet above it and their defensive space station and... err...wiped them out."

I'll do outsider instead of Sylvan. Look for serious details this weekend. Classes are kicking my butt this week, so I apologize for not being more active.

@KyF
Well... i'm not sure.
What i am sure about though, is that this is going to have Magic and Technology.
What kind of magic and technology, you'l have to find out ingame, since i'm not sure how to explain it. =)

@Seon
Well, that might be balanced by the ability to

Destroy enemy ships in a wave of Darkspace Energy.
Destroy enemy planets with giant meteors and magical lazor rays.
Destroy enemies by summoning giant monsters from Darkspace.
Betray allies by... i'm pretty sure you get my point too ;)

And well, there WILL be NPC's, but how imba they will be will differ from each one.
I DO like Mass Effect though, so you might all be slaughtered by a race of giant nonorganic life forms.

@Anonymoose
Great =D
Good luck with those exams!

Now...
When i get home today, you will be learning about...
Spoiler Combat :
Not yet written ^^

I DO like Mass Effect though, so you might all be slaughtered by a race of giant nonorganic life forms.
<Transmission>
We do not know what this 'mass effect' is, but nothing will stop us from expanding.
<End of message>

(Psst. the game hasn't started yet.)

Now... Combat.
Spoiler Rules for Combat :

In DragoNES units have a "Unit Strength" stat, like in Civilisation.
Cobat is pretty simple, really. For every combat i roll a 6 sided die for each side. The Unit Strength of fighting units will then be added to their side's diceroll result. The side with the highest final result wins. The loosing side will then take the diffirence between their side and the other side's total unit strength as damage (Unit strength serves as hit points too, just like in Civ). Upon rolling a 6, another dice will be rolled for the side rolling a six, the result of this dice will be added ontop of the six rolling side's total result, and if ANOTHER six is rolled, then a third dice will be rolled, once again adding the result to the total unit strength. If THREE sixes are rolled, the six rolling side will win by default. Some units are immune to this (It's called Critical Strikes.), but apart from that, the only thing that can save you from a critical strike is DM intervention.
