Killer
Selous

I put Selous last as he mentioned he is off and will only be back on Saturday. :) Slight modification of Killer's mod. Optimum cities is now 50 and corruption drop to 50%. Ships given +1 for all middle ages & +2 for all Industrial onwards. All units can now be airlift (that means workers, settlers, leaders & Army). And lastly, the barbarians get Privateer as their sea unit. :D

4000BC(1) - The tribal people of the arian race who called themselve the Prusian settled down next to a river bank.
3950BC(2) - The Prusian starts to look into something round that would help them to move around easier.
3750BC(8) - A new band of warrior is gathered in the tribal village of Berlin.
3700BC(9) - The warrior discovered a ban of people who called themselve Hun. The Hun teaches our wiseman Ceremonial Burial.
3400BC(14) - The warrior met up with the Khazak tribe who paid us a tribute of 25gp.
3350BC(15) - Our second warrior met up with the Bulgar tribe who paid us another 25gp as tribute.
3100BC(20) - The founder of Berlin die of mysterious illness.

No encounter of any tribes so far. Settler in Berlin should be ready in 2 turns. However, Berlin is not defended. :p No sign of any luxury nearby but lots of grassland for major big cities. Good luck to plux.

Here is the savegame.

And this is the first glimp of our empire to be ;)

The red X is a nice city spot for city number 2 with 2 wheat and 1 gold. :)

Gee, Dark Sheer, aren't you paying attention to the Training Day games? :D Your settler will be done next turn, but the city won't grow until the turn after that, so you'll have a wasted turn of production! You should've gotten another Warrior out first...btw, on a huge map, there be Expansionist Civs about..So you're right to Settle Early, Settle Often...

3100BC: Pluxfried I takes lead of the Prusian people. Our surrounding lands look wide and fertile. Unluckily nothing can be done to undo the production waste. The science rate is increased so we will invent the wheel sooner.
3050BC:
3000BC: settler built, and sent to indicated city spot. Berlin goes for barracks.
2950BC:
2900BC: We meet a bulgar warrior in a hut.
2850BC:
2800BC: Leipzig found and imm builds settler. Conscript warrior is sent to Leipzig as MP.
2750BC: Berlin builds barracks, now spearman
2710BC:
2670BC:
2630BC:The magyar's maps that we found in a hut, tell us of the dark-red civ nearby.
2590BC:
2550BC: An Angle tribe teaches us pottery
2510BC:
2470BC: Berlin builds spearman, continues with another. We meet with the dark-red civ, which are the Americans. They already have three cities, and masonry, but we have nothing of their interest.
2430BC:(15)
2390BC:
2350BC:Berlin finishes spearman for Leipzig. Now settler
2310BC:
2270BC:Discovery of the Wheel, now Horseback Riding
2230BC: End of reign..

Lots of good lands around, but we need to keep up with expansion. Build spearmen in Berlin with barracks, and settlers in Leipzig that has lots of food.

Just found this thread :( ... ok downloading it now.. from the looks of the map the new city will be a perfect settler factory.. maybe even berlin. I will report back in a few hours :)

1 question.. I thought we where playing on monarch ?? but when it loaded it said regent.

2230bc Fired all the governers - Adjusted lezpig to bring research down to 16 turns with a rate of 0.10.0 -1 gold per turn.

2190bc Lezpig produces settler - set to warrior
2150bc Lezpig changed to granary
2110bc ....
2070bc Berlin produces settler - set to warrior (berlin should be set up to crank out warriors as it's shield production is high but grow is real low )

2030bc Lezpig set to worker
1990bc ...
1950bc Hamburg founded set to warrior
1910bc Konigsberg founded set to worker
1870bc ....
1830bc Lezpig produces warrior - set to warrior
1790bc Khazk!!! tribe Gives us Masonry
1750bc Berling produces worker - set to warrior factory, Hamburg produces warrior - set to worker

1725bc Lezpig produces warrior - set to granary, Konigsberg produces worker - set to .... , Setttler popped SW of berlin near mountains and rivers. Frankfurt founded production set to warrior.

1700bc Horsed Barbarian!!! sighted moving to Frankfurt
1675bc They almost defeated the defending warrior in Frankurt.. 1 hp left.. yikes!!!

1650bc Another Barbarian sighted, this time just a lone warrior. (seems to be a camp near by.. sending reinforcements)

1625bc Hamburg produces worker - set to warrior, Frankfurt produces warrior - set to worker.
!!!American's starting Pyramids!!!
Rate set to 5.5.0

1600bc We now have Horseback - set to Alphabet at 0.10.0
Konigsberg produces warrior - set to settler, Magyor tribe disturbed. ( warrior promoted to elite )

1575bc Alphabet in 9 turns - Konigsberg is a great settler factory city as it is close to the frontier with a wheat and cattle within city limits. Reinforcements still moving toward Frankfurt and sight seeing along the way :) I pretty much reduced Berlin to a warrior factory as stated above. Lezpig should be made the new capitol until Berlin gets up to speed. It has quick expansion and with the gold deposit it allows quicker research. There are 2 workers improving Lezpig atm.. and 2 workers helping out Konigsberg.

All our forward cities now have a worker or are nearing completion on one. After that just start pumping out regular warriors to deal with the barbarians as i feel they will start to become a problem really soon. Also this will keep the AI off us as we expand out, and our forward cities are in decent spots to become settler factories once we get some improvements done.

Now for a little strategy killer. Inbetween Berlin and Frankfurt you will notice an area with wheat, cattle, horses and gold. Now here is where the decision comes in.. i would atm settle each corner thus reducing the cities to an early effective use only.. but we need that exanpsion bonus atm. Later in the game we can always disband 2 of them to let the other grow... as each will gain the benfit of the other if you place a city in each corner. ( i would have posted a pic, but im not sure how to do it with this msg board) Well i think that's everything that i was thinking.. have fun :)

cewl :) this should be a fun game.. its starting to look like my 1-2 tourney game. Japan is the last standing army of any consiquence.... soon they will be no more

well ... im back :) .... if killer post back soon then i will be able to play tonight ... im sooo tired! ... but im up for a while ;)

Got a question for ya guys.. anyone else playing in the Civ 3 tourney ? started by Grey Fox. If so what division did you place yourselve's ?

1575 BC: Heinrich I. nicknamed Löwenherz (Lionheart) is crowned in berlin.
Leipzig will go into unhappiness - switched to settler
1550 BC: Leipzig builds settler, now Temple (access 2nd Wheat)
1525 BC: see dark green borders in southeast
1525 BC: Contact Japanese, sell them horseback Riding for 30 Gold (out of 32 they have)
1500 BC: nothing new
1475 BC: slain barbarian Horseman near Frankfurt - promotion to veteran for warrior
1450 BC: new warrior in Frankfurt goes south
1425 BC: found barb camp, warrior has to rest before attacking
1400 BC: Munich founded. Town names corrected: Munich -> München, Konigsberg -> Königsberg
1375 BC:
1350 BC: idnored Lincolns warning and sighted Washington, dispersed Barbarian camp.

1325 BC: Bamberg founded. Developed Aplphabet, found Mysticism in goody hut.
1300 BC:
1275 BC: Temple in Leipzig, now Warrior, then settler (coincides with growth then)
1250 BC: Japanese start Pyramids
1225 BC:
1200 BC: iron working from tribe
1175 BC: Americans demand 75 gold tribute. Seeing our warriors close to New York, Heinrich I. Löwenherz laughs at them. Leipzig is set on Palace as palceholder.
1150 BC: Warriors move to New York
1125 BC: Warriors now near New York
1100 BC: After heavy battles in which we loose 3 Warriors, the two Spearmen defending New York die. The town and the worker within is ours!

I set lots of Temples into production in cities where additional territory will significantly speed growth/prod or where there`s a res (horses). Leipzig should be kept on Wonders/Palace I think since it will be one of the strongest towns for a long while. America should be pressed (there`s hills next to Washington, 2 Warriors there threatening the town and they`ll probably talk peace, maybe we can even get a twon out of it!!!!)

Otherwise, we should try to expand as fast as possible.

I recommend towns in the 'x' marked spaces.

have FUN!!

ok ... back :) .... comrade selous comes to power, and looks over his new inherited empire .... with 1 word comrade selous makes an overview of his reign .... expand

1100
1075 changed leipez to settlers
1050
1025 our scientist discovered writing, we start on litriture, changed science rate to 1/9/0, and build konisburg
1000
950 build munich
925 build heidelburg (excellent spot)
900
875 Peace with americans, we got 99gold and chicargo ... good deal i think ;)
850 leipeze starts wonder
800 build nuremburg and cologne
775
750
730
710 change leipeze to great library
690 build stuttgart
670
650
630
610 there are 3 settlers near frankfurt to build new citys

we have massive amount of territory, we must still expand fast to take advantage of the space around us, then we will be unstopabble once again, take note of the gold west of heidelburg that could be exploited with careful positing of citys, there is not much food around, citys that take 1 of the plains squares and can have 2 of the workers in the mountains would be the most economical of the resorces (so size 3 citys in hills)
